The yoga studio, measuring approximately 500 square feet, accommodates up to 25 participants for regular classes and up to 30 attendees for workshops. Ms. Walsh also ensures that all therapists at Elements are trauma-informed specialists who receive ongoing training in advanced treatment models to meet the high demand for effective care.
A hallmark of Ms. Walsh’s leadership is her dedication to staff well-being. All services are offered free to staff members, reflecting Ms. Walsh’s belief that empowered employees are essential to delivering exceptional care.
Before co-founding her company, Ms. Walsh served as a clinical trauma specialist at the Counseling and Wellness Center of Pittsburgh. In this capacity, she provided trauma-focused psychotherapy while integrating bodywork and holistic practices into her therapeutic approach. This experience highlighted the need for comprehensive care models that address both physical and emotional aspects of healing.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Walsh worked at Redstone Highlands Communities, a retirement community where she supported residents at the end of their lives. This role deepened her passion for elder care and reinforced her commitment to compassionate service. Additionally, Ms. Walsh worked for Parent Wise in Westmoreland County, providing parenting lessons and working directly with families in need.
Ms. Walsh’s educational background is extensive and multidisciplinary. She holds an associate’s degree in human services, a bachelor’s degree in social work from California University of Pennsylvania, now Pennsylvania Western University, and a second bachelor’s degree in rehabilitative justice and criminal justice. She also holds a Master of Social Work from Pennsylvania Western University. Furthermore, Ms. Walsh completed sub-baccalaureate coursework in restorative justice at Bloomsburg University.
In addition to her formal education, Ms. Walsh pursued numerous certifications to enhance her expertise. She is a certified trauma specialist with a certificate in traumatic stress studies. She also completed training with the IFS Institute, is trained in somatic therapy through the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute and is a certified yoga instructor. Ms. Walsh is currently pursuing certification in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing through the EMDR International Association.
Ms. Walsh is an active member of several industry organizations, including the Westmoreland Drug and Alcohol Commission Inc. and the National Association of Social Workers. Her advocacy work includes vocal support of inmate rights and mentoring incarcerated women throughout Pennsylvania, drawing on her lived expertise to champion social justice for individuals navigating trauma within the legal system. Ms. Walsh’s civic engagement extends to supporting community support groups by opening Elements’ doors for meetings and by establishing new groups as needed. She also maintains a blessing box food shelter beneath the center’s coffee bar for individuals facing food insecurity, a project she plans to expand alongside other initiatives aimed at making holistic healing accessible.
In light of her success, Ms. Walsh has been recognized through awards for excellent and outstanding service in the community. Notably, she has been featured on the TODAY Show for her expertise in artificial intelligence and its impact on wellness practices.
Ms. Walsh’s approach to care is informed by both personal experience and professional training. She attributes her success to empathy developed through overcoming adversity, nonjudgmental support cultivated during her own healing journey, and insights gained from participating in therapy.
