Davin du Bois, wellness director at the Big Canyon Country Club, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Health Care Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in wellness and personal training.

Establishing himself as a leader in the world of fitness for more than 20 years, Mr. du Bois showcases his love of helping others grow and improve through his professional life. This journey started in 2004, when he became a fitness consultant for Virgin Active in his home country of South Africa. In this role, Mr. du Bois oversaw facilities, developed exercise programs and aided gym members in the proper use of equipment. Moving to London in 2008, he contributed for five years as a personal trainer at LA Fitness UK, learning more about how to manage a portfolio of clients.

After a brief tenure as a personal trainer and class instructor with Femme Fitness, Mr. du Bois moved to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where he took on the position of personal trainer for TribeFit. Through this organization, he showcased expertise in kickboxing, strength condition, flexibility training and high-intensity training. Finally, in 2018, Mr. du Bois immigrated to the United States to be closer to his wife’s family. During his first five years in the U.S., he contributed as a personal trainer, MNR manager and personal training manager at Equinox, a popular lifestyle brand that owns multiple fitness clubs.

Mr. du Bois’ years of experience culminated in joining Big Canyon Country Club as an assistant wellness director in 2024. Based in Newport Beach, California, this private club was founded in 1971 and features a gym, spa, golf course, tennis and pickleball court, and more. Since his promotion in 2025, Mr. du Bois has served as the club’s wellness director. Along with taking care of the facilities, he oversees youth activities, including summer camps, babysitting services, kids’ night out events and various other programs for children. Mr. du Bois manages fitness instructors and personal trainers operating out of the club. He also creates new program offerings, while attending meetings and communicating with club members in order to attend to their needs.

Throughout his career journey, Mr. du Bois has been supported by his education and professional training. He earned a national diploma in sport, recreation and fitness management from Exercise Teachers Academy (ETA) in 2008. Further solidifying his credentials, Mr. du Bois was certified in fitness through ETA in 2005, in coaching science through ETA in 2008 and in personal training from the National College of Exercise Professionals in 2019. Since 2008, he has been listed as Level 3 in the Register of Exercise Professionals in the United Kingdom, United States and South Africa.

In addition to his primary vocation, Mr. du Bois is a devoted husband and a loving father to one son. His hobbies include jiujitsu, trying new restaurants and food, and traveling. As he moves ahead at the Big Canyon Country Club, Mr. du Bois looks forward to revamping the fitness and wellness offerings, with a specific eye toward improving the gym facilities and introducing more programs for kids. He also hopes to work more directly with the country club’s golf course to help encourage smart health practices among patrons golfing there.
