Company: Concierge Psych Doc
Location: Beverly Hills, California, United States
Dr. Sharona Cohen, founder and licensed marriage and family therapist at Concierge Psych Doc, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Health Care Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in mental wellness therapy.
Though her journey hasn’t always been easy, Dr. Cohen has been committed to mental health work and conflict resolution for much of her life, describing the career as “in [her] blood.” Originally born in Tehran, Iran, she had to start with almost nothing after moving to the United States, having left behind even her high school diploma. Nonetheless, Dr. Cohen was able to establish her first business, the Hope Association, in 2001. That venture was successful, but she chose to dissolve it and focus on being a full-time mother while taking on consulting jobs on the side.
Unable to deny her vocational calling for long, Dr. Cohen returned to the workforce in 2010, launching LA Concierge Therapist. This firm is based on the concierge mental health model, which emphasizes highly personalized care and providing patients with around-the-clock access to psychological care. As the owner of LA Concierge Therapist, Dr. Cohen makes herself available to her patients through email or text at all hours, even late into the night. She is able to help them respond to panic attacks, anxiety and depression whenever those symptoms occur, thus protecting clients from feelings of isolation and being overwhelmed. In 2024, Dr. Cohen expanded her concierge mental health offerings with the founding of Concierge Psych Doc. Through this company, she operates as a licensed marriage and family therapist, specializing in working with men, business professionals and those struggling with anxiety and depression.
Concurrently with her work at LA Concierge Therapist, Dr. Cohen owned ESH Properties from 2012 to 2024. She has also served as a consulting specialist at Hearing Loss Solutions since 2014. This audiologist center assists people struggling with tinnitus and adapting to the use of hearing aids, with a focus on services and technologies that can help prevent and heal hearing injuries.
Dr. Cohen first sought an education in the United States by pursuing an Associate of Arts from Pierce College in 1997 and a bachelor’s degree from California State University, Northridge, in 2000. She obtained a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy and school counseling from the University of Southern California in 2003. Subsequently, Dr. Cohen earned a doctorate in clinical psychology from Ryokan College in 2007. She has further solidified her expertise with a number of credentials. Dr. Cohen is certified in pupil personnel services, advanced experiential cognitive behavioral therapy, evidence-based neuroscience approaches for treating anxiety and depression, anger management, suicide assessment, intensive trauma treatment, psychopharmacology and more.
As a commitment to her field, Dr. Cohen has been active with several industry-related organizations. She maintains membership in the California Association of Marriage & Family Therapists, the Association of Jewish Psychologists, and the Anxiety & Depression Association of America. Dr. Cohen credits her success to the support of her family, especially her husband, mother and sister. She is a devoted wife and a loving mother to an 18-year-old son and a 17-year-old daughter.
With her children growing up and becoming more independent, Dr. Cohen looks forward to devoting more of her time and energy toward the growth of Concierge Psych Doc. She aims to achieve a wider degree of recognition by spreading information about her innovative approach to mental health care. Additionally, Dr. Cohen recognizes the importance of engaging in her own therapy and taking care of her own well-being in order to properly be effective in her career. She hopes to share the message that struggling is a regular part of being a human, and seeking help doesn’t make people weak.
