After working for New Jersey Public Schools for five years, beginning in 1997, she founded Progressive Therapy of New Jersey Inc. in 2003, a consulting firm specializing in behavior analysis within public schools. As the company’s president and behavior analyst, Ms. Battaglia has developed systems to address school-wide needs and improve educational environments for students with developmental disabilities. Her relentless drive and commitment to over-delivering have distinguished her as a leader in the field.
In 2020, Ms. Battaglia expanded her expertise by transitioning to the role of founder and chief executive officer, launching Elevate Your Edge to enhance individuals’ skills across various domains. Collaborating closely with educators, clinicians, school leaders, and organizations that operate in high-demand environments, she assists those who find difficulty balancing responsibilities and are often overwhelmed. By combining science with humanity, Ms. Battaglia dedicates herself to supporting atmospheres that often do not support human behavior, despite leaders’ capabilities and skills.
Apart from her work in this field, Ms. Battaglia co-owns Chrome Paint Auto Body Shop, showcasing her diverse entrepreneurial spirit. Her background and skillset are a testament to her ongoing success in both areas.
Ms. Battaglia’s journey into the field of behavior analysis began during her undergraduate studies at Rutgers University. Initially drawn to psychology, she discovered a passion for working with children with autism through a fieldwork opportunity at the Douglass Developmental Disabilities Center. Inspired by this opportunity, she pursued additional schooling, acquiring a master’s degree in special education from New Jersey City University and board certification in behavior analysis from Pennsylvania State University.
Ms. Battaglia’s professional journey is marked by her involvement with the New Jersey Association for Behavior Analysis Inc., where she served as communications chair from 2018 to 2020 and continuing education chair from 2020 to 2021. Her dedication to advancing the field is further evidenced by her role as a board member for over five years.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Ms. Battaglia is deeply committed to civic engagement. She volunteers with organizations such as Donate and EHR, reflecting her dedication to giving back to the community. Additionally, Ms. Battaglia’s influence has extended beyond local borders, having delivered speaking engagements across the U.S. and internationally in Ireland.
Throughout her career, Ms. Battaglia has been recognized for her contributions to education and behavior analysis, receiving an award from the Council for Exceptional Children. While in college, she was honored as the highest-level student teacher at Rutgers University.
