Company: Refinement Principle LLC
Location: Belmont, Michigan, United States
Casey LaMore, Chief Executive Officer and Founder at Refinement Principle LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Healthcare Professionals for dedication, achievements and leadership in Support Broker Services and Intellectual and Developmentally Disabled Adults.
Ms. LaMore has established herself as a leader and advocate in social work, particularly in supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. As a rational emotive behavior therapist-certified personal development coach and the founder and chief executive officer of Refinement Principle LLC in Western Michigan, she has dedicated her expertise to helping individuals find meaningful ways to connect and build their care teams, ensuring they feel safe and empowered to live authentically. Ms. LaMore’s responsibilities also include managing business operations, handling administrative tasks such as tax liabilities and payroll, networking and working directly with clients three days each week. She assists individuals in articulating their goals, preparing for interviews, registering for educational programs and advocating for increased services.
A journey toward entrepreneurship that was shaped by nearly a decade of direct service in the disability community, Ms. LaMore’s most notable achievement was assisting a nonverbal autistic adult female who exhibited highly aggressive behavior, along with her family, in building a sustainable home and care team. This accomplishment is especially significant given the rarity of such independent living arrangements for individuals with complex needs. Through Ms. LaMore’s guidance, many parents and community members have replicated this model, adapting it to their unique circumstances to avoid institutional settings where autonomy is limited.
Before founding Refinement Principle LLC, Ms. LaMore served as the chief operating officer at Growing Roots in Comstock Park, Michigan, from 2022 to 2024. In this capacity, she oversaw daily operations and contributed to the organization’s mission of supporting individuals with disabilities.
From 2018 to 2022, Ms. LaMore served as the director of operations at Abundant Home Corporation, where she managed organizational processes and supported service delivery for vulnerable populations. Her earlier tenure at Real Life Living Services in Grand Rapids, Michigan, included roles as an assistant area director between 2016 and 2018, following her tenure as an area supervisor from 2015 to 2018. During this period, Ms. Lamore played an instrumental role in helping families establish self-determined care teams, fostering autonomy for individuals with developmental disabilities.
Ms. LaMore’s professional foundation was built through diverse experiences outside the social work sector. From 2010 to 2015, she was both an office manager and director of operations at Unity Home Improvement and Michigan Gutter Cap in Comstock Park, where she developed administrative and leadership skills that would later inform her approach to organizational management. Earlier in her career, Ms. LaMore worked as group sales manager at Celebration! Cinema between 2003 and 2008.
Highly educated, Ms. LaMore’s academic background includes an associate degree in business administration from Grand Rapids Community College, earned in 2022, and a Bachelor of Business Administration with a minor in psychology focused on organizational leadership from Southern New Hampshire University, completed in 2025. Her schooling has provided a strong foundation for her leadership roles and informed her approach to guiding families and organizations through complex challenges.
Beyond her professional commitments, Ms. LaMore has demonstrated civic engagement through various volunteer roles. She supports The Arc, Disability Advocates of Kent County and several parent advocacy groups. She previously served as a marketing and growth director for Rams Hockey from 2013 to 2018. Additionally, Ms. LaMore has volunteered with the Parents-Teachers Association, Growing Roots and Mel Trotter Ministries’ shelters and meals program for the homeless community.
Ms. LaMore’s expertise in support-broker services and advocacy for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities has earned her recognition as an authority in her field. Her achievements have been featured in Voyage Michigan in 2025 as well as Voyage GR’s Who’s Who in Grand Rapids for Businesses and Who’s Who in Grand Rapids for Female Entrepreneurs that same year. Ms. LaMore attributes her success to her high emotional intelligence, which enables her to connect deeply with clients while communicating difficult truths constructively. She also credits her mentors, friends and colleagues for their support throughout her career journey.
Looking ahead, Ms. LaMore aims to expand Refinement Principle LLC so she can devote more time to strategic leadership while ensuring that employees receive a living wage and opportunities for advancement within the organization. She envisions offering staff the chance to own a stake in the company and participate meaningfully in its direction.
