Mr. Plumb, distinguished for his expertise in the government sector, has been serving as the managing director for his private practice, North Country Veterans, Military and Family Services, in Bethel, Vermont, since 2021. As a licensed and independent clinical social worker, he has provided therapy to individuals throughout Vermont and Ohio through the Sonomind platform. In addition to maintaining his practice, Mr. Plumb has been a program manager for the Post 911 M2VA Program with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and as a transition and care management services program manager for the White River Junction VAMC since 2014.

Enlisting in the U.S. Army in 1987, Mr. Plumb served his country for four years. He subsequently completed a counseling psychology graduate internship with Lamoille County Mental Health before becoming a crisis counselor and per diem medication technician for the health care facility. Over the next few years, Mr. Plumb interned at Louis Stokes Cleveland VAMC, was an assessment specialist and social worker in Cuyahoga County, and was a psychiatric social worker and family and intimate partner violence therapist for Army Healthcare. Additionally, Mr. Plumb served 10 years with the Army National Guard between 1991 and 2001.

Among other noteworthy roles, Mr. Plumb garnered success in higher education as an adjunct professor at Jefferson Community College from 2000 to 2007. He then joined the VA as a clinical supervisor and military sexual trauma therapist between 2007 and 2009 and served as a VA Liaison for the Healthcare Warrior Transition Battalion with the VA in Fort Drum, New York, from 2009 to 2014.

Mr. Plumb holds an Associate of Science in recreational therapy from the University of Maine, a second associate’s degree in business administration and management from the Community College of Vermont, and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Northern Vermont University. He also completed coursework toward a master’s degree in counseling psychology from Antioch University New England before obtaining a Master of Science in social administration with a focus on clinical psychiatry from Case Western Reserve University.

In addition to his formal education, Mr. Plumb received credentials as a licensed independent clinical supervising social worker through the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapy Board. He is also a licensed independent clinical social worker in Vermont and is board-certified in clinical social work through the American Board of Examiners in Clinical Social Work.

Mr. Plumb maintains relations within the industry through memberships with the Association of VA Social Workers, the National Association of Social Workers and the American Board of Clinical Social Workers. He is also a life member of the American Legion.

In recognition of his military and civilian success, Mr. Plumb has received several awards from the U.S. Army and appreciation awards from the VA. However, his most notable achievement has been his ability to provide excellent care to veterans and assist them in finding success after their military service.

Growing up in a military family, Mr. Plumb followed his father’s footsteps, who served a 30-year tenure in the U.S. Air Force. He has drawn constant inspiration from him while serving his country, the VA and through his private practice, where he intends to continue counseling and coordinating care for our nation’s heroes.
