Company: Aesthetically Pleasing
Location: Fenton, Missouri, United States
Crystal M. Alber, Founder, Owner and Clinician at Aesthetically Pleasing, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Healthcare Professionals for dedication, achievements and leadership in Anesthesia and Regenerative Aesthetic Medicine.
Ms. Alber’s career is distinguished by her expertise in both anesthesia and regenerative aesthetic medicine. Her journey began after a high school volunteer project at St. Mary’s Hospital required her to complete 120 hours of service. Although she initially hesitated, the mentorship of a nurse anesthetist inspired her to pursue nursing as a profession. At age 22, Ms. Alber began working in critical care and soon developed a passion for advancing her clinical skills.
In 2018, Ms. Alber founded Aesthetically Pleasing as its owner and clinician. Overseeing all aspects of the business, she manages patient care, clinical operations, strategic planning and organizational growth. Her daily responsibilities include seeing clients from mid-morning to late afternoon, handling payroll and scheduling, maintaining the office environment and supporting anesthesia services when needed.
Ms. Alber’s entrepreneurial journey began modestly in 2020 when she saved enough to purchase her first box of Botox and treated a handful of patients while still working hospital shifts. By 2021, she moved into a larger office space and in mid-2022 made the pivotal decision to leave her hospital position to dedicate herself fully to her growing practice. Ms. Alber’s business stands as her most significant achievement, providing focus and purpose during a period marked by personal health challenges.
Before launching her business, Ms. Alber was the chief certified registered nurse anesthetist at Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital within BJC HealthCare in St. Louis from 2017 to 2018. In this leadership role, she gained valuable insight into the complexities of managing teams and learned the importance of seeking balance rather than striving to please everyone, a lesson that continues to inform her approach today.
For over five years, beginning in 2011, Ms. Alber served as a registered nurse at Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital in St. Peters, Missouri. Earlier in her career, she worked as a critical care nurse in the intensive care unit at Missouri Baptist Medical Center under BJC HealthCare in St. Louis from 2004 to 2008. Ms. Alber began her professional path as a nurse assistant at St. Anthony’s Medical Center, now Mercy Health, between 2001 and 2003.
Throughout more than two decades in healthcare, Ms. Alber has demonstrated exceptional commitment to advancing her knowledge and skills. She holds a Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Missouri, completed in 2003, and a Master of Science in anesthesia from Webster University in St. Louis, earned in 2011. Ms. Alber has also completed specialized coursework through anesthesia school in 2011 and holds certification as a critical care registered nurse. These credentials have enabled her to deliver high-quality patient care across diverse settings and have contributed directly to her success as both an anesthesia provider and aesthetic medicine specialist.
Ms. Alber’s professional affiliations include membership with the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology, the Missouri Association of Nurse Anesthetists and the American Med Spa Association, reflecting her commitment to staying current with industry standards and best practices. Beyond clinical practice, she volunteers her time with A Thriving Chance, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting women who are breast cancer survivors, in addition to creating resources for people and women with cancer. Ms. Alber continues to be involved with these causes, drawing on early high school projects at St. Mary’s Hospital that shaped her commitment to service.
Ms. Alber’s accomplishments have been recognized through several prestigious awards. She was recognized as Best Medical Aesthetic Clinic in St. Louis by Lafayette Township Awards for two consecutive years, received the Top 2% Master Injector Award from the Foundation for Aesthetic Medical Excellence for three years, was named Best Aesthetic Injector in St. Louis by Best of Best Review, and was highlighted as the Best Medical Aesthetic Clinic in St. Louis with the Evergreen Award. Additionally, Ms. Alber was featured in an article titled “Crystal Alber’s Aesthetically Pleasing: Where Confidence Meets Expertise,” highlighting her impact on clients’ lives and her reputation for excellence.
Attributing much of her success to the unwavering support of her husband, who built every aspect of Ms. Alber’s business space while maintaining his own full-time job, she also notes close friends whose encouragement fueled her pursuit of joy-driven work. Meanwhile, personal experience with illness has profoundly influenced her perspective on healthcare delivery and recovery resources for women facing breast cancer reconstruction challenges.
Looking ahead, Ms. Alber envisions expanding nonprofit initiatives like A Thriving Chance by creating collaborative networks among surgeons, specialists, and patients while increasing access to restorative services such as postsurgical rehabilitation and nipple tattooing for mastectomy patients. Her goal is to establish a retreat center offering therapy sessions, meditation opportunities, horseback riding and supportive community experiences, empowering women to reclaim their sense of body, mind and soul.
For those considering careers in healthcare or aesthetic medicine, Ms. Alber encourages entering the field out of genuine passion rather than external motivations, a philosophy that has guided each step of her own remarkable journey. Her years of experience spanning critical care nursing through advanced practice anesthesia into regenerative aesthetics, and recognition as one of the top professionals in her field, continue to set new standards for compassionate care innovation within healthcare.
