Jason B. Farnsworth, RRT, MBA, director of respiratory care services at Renown Health, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Healthcare Professionals for dedication, achievements and leadership in healthcare.
With more than 25 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Farnsworth has built an esteemed career in the healthcare and military sectors marked by his dedication to innovation and service. As the director of respiratory therapy at Great Basin College since 2024, he has been instrumental in shaping the curriculum and training future respiratory therapists. Concurrently, he excels as the director of respiratory care services at Renown Health, a position he has held since 2019. Mr. Farnsworth’s leadership at Renown Health has been recognized with several accolades, including being celebrated as the Leader of the Quarter.
Prior to his present positions, Mr. Farnsworth found success as the co-owner of Bread Boys Inc. from 2017 to 2023, where he honed his entrepreneurial skills. His tenure as home health administrator at Renown Health from 2015 to 2019 further solidified his expertise in healthcare management. Earlier in his career, he was active as the director, supervisor and practitioner of respiratory care at Renown Health from 2000 to 2015, where he began his journey in healthcare as a unit clerk before transitioning to respiratory therapy.
Mr. Farnsworth’s military service is equally commendable. He served with the Nevada Air National Guard from 1999 to 2023, culminating in his role as senior enlisted leader for the 152 Mission Support Group from 2023 to 2024. Mr. Farnsworth’s contributions included leading efforts under the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and High Yield Explosive Enhanced Response Force Package, which involved disaster response and public safety operations.
To support his professional ambitions, Mr. Farnsworth pursued a formal education through Air University at the Community College of the Air Force, obtaining an associate degrees in cardiopulmonary technology/technologist, human resource management and allied health science between 2000 and 2014. During this time, he furthered his academic efforts at Truckee Meadows Community College, from which he earned an associate degree in liberal arts and sciences in 2002. He continued his studies with a Bachelor of Science in biology at the University of Nevada, Reno in 2009. Mr. Farnsworth ultimately graduated with a Master of Business Administration in health care administration from Western Governors University, Nevada in 2018.
Mr. Farnsworth’s affiliations include operating as a board member for the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners since 2023. He formerly held leadership roles such as the immediate past president of the Nevada Society for Respiratory Care. Mr. Farnsworth is also a member of several esteemed organizations including the American College of Healthcare Executives and The National Board of Respiratory Care.
In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Farnsworth is actively involved in civic initiatives. He is a proud donor to Renown Children’s Hospital and an organizer for the Lung Force Walk with the American Lung Association in Northern Nevada. His commitment to community service is further exemplified by his groundbreaking program with the National Guard Association of the United States that provides trauma education for National Guard members.
On a personal note, Mr. Farnsworth enjoys activities such as CrossFit, snowboarding, boating, camping and traveling. He is dedicated to improving respiratory care practices in northern Nevada by establishing a program that addresses staffing challenges faced by rural hospitals. His family-oriented nature is evident through his pride in his children’s accomplishments and his close relationships with his loved ones.
