With 15 years of experience to her credit, Ms. McFarlin has excelled at the Department of Veterans Affairs as a licensed master social worker from 2009 to 2012, a licensed clinical social worker since 2012, and both a cognitive processing therapy trainer and consultant since 2018. She established herself as a member of the Idaho Society of Clinical Social Workers from 2008 to 2014. Before embarking on her professional path, she pursued an education at the College of Southern Idaho, where she earned an associate degree in liberal arts and sciences. She concluded her studies at Boise State University, graduating with a master’s degree in social work in 2008.

Beyond her responsibilities within the field, Ms. McFarlin has participated in numerous endeavors outside of her professional circles. She contributed as a volunteer at a local domestic violence shelter and Interfaith Sanctuary Boise. In addition to her primary vocation, she remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to her areas of expertise. She remains involved with the Southwestern Idaho branch of the National Association of Social Workers as the Chair and a board member. Likewise, she was a member of the Idaho Society of Clinical Social Workers.

In light of her impressive undertakings, Ms. McFarlin has accrued several accolades throughout her career. She was presented with a service award for 15 years of service, was recognized as employee of the month, and was named to the national dean’s list for bachelor’s and master’s programs. In the immediate future, she hopes to start her own private practice to continue providing therapeutic services once she retires from the Department of Veterans Affairs.
