She began her career as an associate psychologist II at the McLennan County State Juvenile Correctional Facility Unit 1 from 2005 to 2007. She worked as a quitline counselor at the American Cancer Society, Inc. from 2007 to 2009.
Ms. Parker continued her career as a behavioral health specialist V at Austin State Supported Living Center from 2009 to 2014. She served as a behavioral health therapist at Lone Star Circle of Care from 2014 to 2015 before finding success as an ABA therapist at Behavioral Innovations from 2015 to 2016. She was active as a behavior specialist at Behavior Solutions from 2016 to 2018.
Before embarking on her professional path, Ms. Parker pursued an education at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and English in 2002 and a Master of Arts in psychology in 2005. She continued her academic efforts at the University of North Texas, completing coursework in applied behavior analysis in 2012. She is currently pursuing a PhD in counselor education and supervision at Walden University. She is a licensed professional counselor supervisor and holds a DBT certification.
Beyond her responsibilities within the field, Ms. Parker has participated in numerous endeavors outside of her professional circles. She volunteered with Angels of Christmas and at Breakthrough Central Texas as a college application coach. She sat on the board at Empower Art in 2012 and has found success with her written works, which were published in the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
In addition to her primary vocation, Ms. Parker remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to her areas of expertise. She was a member of Chi Sigma Iota, the National Society of Leadership and Success, the Texas Counseling Association, the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision, the Society for Sexual, Affectional, Intersex, and Gender Expansive Identities, and the American Association of Suicidology. In light of her impressive undertakings, she has accrued several accolades throughout her career. She was recognized as an Honorary Graduate of the Family Life Chaplain Training Center. She was selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Who’s Who in American Universities and Colleges.
