With nearly 30 years of experience to her credit, Ms. Turner has found much success as an adjunct professor at Delaware State University since 2021 and a cancer nurse navigator at the Bayhealth Medical Center since 2018. Prior to these positions, she was active at the Bayhealth Medical Center as a nursing supervisor in the radiology department from 2015 to 2018 and a radiology registered nurse from 2012 to 2018. She previously served as a registered nurse with Crozer Health from 1997 to 2014, a registered nurse and operating room circulator for the Wills Eye Surgery Center from 2005 to 2012 and a licensed practical nurse with Crozer Health from 1997 to 2004. Ms. Turner began her career as a licensed practical nurse in the Department of Veterans Affairs from 1995 to 1997.
Becoming licensed as a practical nurse in 1994, Ms. Turner subsequently obtained an Associate of Applied Science at Delaware County Community College in 2004, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Wilmington University in 2014 and a Master of Science in Nursing from Wilmington University in 2016. Attributing her success to her determination and drive, she has been proudly presented with the Aliene Carrington Ewell Member of the Year Award, the 2021 Daisy Award for Extraordinary Nurses from The Daisy Foundation, the 2022 Finer Womanhood Award from the Epsilon Rho Zeta Chapter of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. and the 2022 Above and Beyond Award. She was likewise recognized as a Top Nurse by Delaware Today Magazine between 2020 and 2021 and was inducted to the Sisterhood of First Honor in 2022. In the coming years, Ms. Turner hopes to graduate from Chamberlain University with a Doctor of Nursing Practice before earning her life coaching certification and establishing her new business.
