Since 2023, Ms. Maramraj has found success as a counselor and art therapist at Psychology Associates of NWLA. In this role, she leverages her expertise as a registered art therapist with the American Art Therapy Association. Prior to this role, she was a medical biller and office assistant with Camellia Green Counseling LLC from 2022 to 2023. In 2022, Ms. Maramraj was a recreation therapist at Brentwood Hospital.
Before these positions, Ms. Maramraj garnered experience as a counselor at Louisiana Tech University and a community care coordinator with the Rehab Services of NELA in 2021. She served as a mental health therapist with Louisiana Methodist Children’s Home in 2017 and a therapist at The Center for Children and Families from 2016 to 2017. Ms. Maramraj began working as an art therapist with the Louisiana Art Therapy Association in 2011 and as an art therapist with Young Audiences of Louisiana in 2012.
In preparation for her career, Ms. Maramraj attended Louisiana State University Shreveport and obtained a Bachelor of Arts in fine arts with a concentration in graphic design in 2006. She continued her higher education at Hofstra University, where she graduated in 2009 with a Master of Arts in creative arts therapy. Alongside her formal degrees, she is a certified children’s yoga instructor.
To keep abreast of her field, Ms. Maramraj is a member of the Louisiana Counseling Association and the American Art Therapy Association. She attributes her success to the support of her family and her personal drive. In her spare time, she enjoys yoga, meditation and exercise.
