In preparation for her career pursuits, Ms. Brusseau attended Arizona State University, earning a bachelor’s degree in business, management, and marketing in 1986. She continued her education at Chapman University, graduating with a Master of Physical Therapy in 1996. Additionally, she is a certified Master of Physical Therapy by the State of California and a certified Cancer Exercise Trainer by the American College of Sports Medicine. Ms. Brusseau has found success since 2005 as the owner, president, and lead therapist at Atala Physical Therapy in Carlsbad, California, a private boutique physical therapy clinic. The clinic offers clients rehabilitation services and therapeutic treatments.
Prior to her current post, Ms. Brusseau was a physical therapist with Orthosport Physical Therapy from 1999 to 2005 and served on the physical therapy staff with Skandia Physical Therapy from 1997 to 1999. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association. Her proudest accomplishment is treating her clients, and in the coming years, she plans to expand her clinic while training new staff to treat the body as a whole, focusing on posture, ergonomics, and core stabilization. Ms. Brusseau believes physical therapy should foreground learning about the connections between different parts of the body.
