Prior to this appointment, she held the position of the director of quality and safety improvement with the Riverside Health System from 2021 to 2022. Previously, she served as a senior performance improvement coordinator with Virginia Commonwealth University Health from 2015 to 2021 and the executive director for Project CARE of the Greater Virginia Peninsula from 2010 to 2015. Ms. Plato began her career as the manager for DaVita Inc. from 2008 to 2010.
Before embarking on her professional path, Ms. Plato pursued an education at Eastern Mennonite University, from which she earned a Bachelor of Science in registered nursing in 1994. She concluded her studies with a master’s degree in health care administration from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2010. Among the many highlights of her career thus far, she is incredibly proud of her efforts with Project CARE, which aided low-income, uninsured individuals acquire access to specialized medical care. Looking toward the future, Ms. Plato hopes to continue advancing to an executive level in her areas of expertise at Virginia Commonwealth University Health.
