Location: Northborough, Massachusetts, United States

Nadine E. Lucas, president and founder of the PATH Program for Addiction and Trauma Healing, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Health Care Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in mental health counseling.

With three decades of experience to her credit, Ms. Lucas has excelled in the field of mental health counseling. In 2020, she founded the PATH Program for Addiction and Trauma Healing, where she offers rehabilitative support for individuals suffering from addiction and mental health traumas. To wit, she was inspired to pursue a career in mental health care after overcoming her own traumas. After working with several other therapy programs, Ms. Lucas discovered her desire to create a therapy system uniquely attuned to each patient’s needs, and she is proud to have accomplished as much with the PATH Program.

Adjacent to her primary vocation, Ms. Lucas has also served as a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) with Creative Wellbeing Counseling Services since 2019. She recently retired from her position as a bilingual licensed school social worker with the Framingham Public Schools in Framingham, Massachusetts, where she began working in 2008. She began her career in 1999, operating as a guidance counselor at the American School of Belo Horizonte until 2003. Outside of her professional interests, Ms. Lucas remains involved with SoulCollage, an intuitive collaging program that allows her to embrace her hobby of creating abstract art.

As part of her vocational journey, Ms. Lucas pursued a formal education, beginning with her time at Bridgewater State University, formerly known as Bridgewater State College, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in adapted physical education in 1987. She subsequently continued her studies at Fitchburg State University, formerly known as Fitchburg State College, where she achieved a master’s degree in counseling psychology in 2008. Ms. Lucas is also a registered play therapist, and she received a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in expressive therapies from Lesley University in 2016.

As part of her dedication to her profession, Ms. Lucas maintains her membership with the Association for Play Therapy and the Massachusetts Mental Health Counselors Association. Furthermore, she, along with Creative Wellbeing, remains affiliated with the Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce. In light of her accomplished career, she attributes much of her success to her mother, who encouraged her and her sister to obtain higher education and pursue their passions. In the coming years, Ms. Lucas hopes to have fully developed support programs for individuals in both the LGBTQ and BIPOC communities, in addition to further expanding her nonprofit organization.
