Norman McCulloch PA-C, Physician Assistant at NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Health Care Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership as a physician assistant.

Hailing from Jamaica, Mr. McCulloch immigrated to the United States in 1981 and obtained an associate degree in radiologic science from Westchester Community College in 1986 and a bachelor’s degree in allied health ultrasound with the State University of New York Downstate Health Sciences University in 1988. He later followed with a bachelor’s degree as a physician assistant in the Harlem Physician Assistant Program with The City College of the City University of New York in 1999 and a master’s degree in health administration and management from Colorado Technical University in 2009.

Mr. McCulloch, after providing superior service as an x-ray tech and sonographer from 1989 to 1996, has excelled as a physician assistant at NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull in Brooklyn for more than two decades. He specializes in emergency medicine, trauma care, critical care, medical acute situation, and urgent care in which he obtains medical complaints and medical histories from patients, performs physical examinations, formulates diagnoses, requests laboratory or imaging tests and treats and discharge or admit patients, referring them to their primary care or to the appropriate clinic. Mr. McCulloch has imparted his knowledge as a physician assistant as an adjunct instructor with Westchester Community College from 2008 to the present and with the SUNY Downstate Physician Assistant Program from 2010 to the present.

Mr. McCulloch attributes his success to his deep faith as well as the tutelage of a professor at Westchester Community College named Gallagher who didn’t use any notes, came in without a book or any notes, and would lecture for an hour. He takes great pride in immigrating from Jamaica and becoming a physician assistant after initially studying political science. In the coming years, he is hoping for continued success as a physician assistant and in education.
