After obtaining a Bachelor of Science in 1997 in clinical laboratory science from Howard University, Ms. Eneme-Koge has flourished as a medical technician with Inova Fairfax Hospital, the largest hospital campus in Northern Virginia and the flagship hospital of Inova Health System home to a neonatal intensive care unit, and a dedicated pediatric intensive care unit, an oncology unit, an adolescent medicine unit, and centers for cardiac surgery and pediatric surgery. With Inova, her responsibilities include patient testing, quality assurance, coordinating proficiency, processing and testing specimens, quality control of material, reporting results and COVID-19 testing.
Ms. Eneme-Koge attributes her success to hard work and doing her job accurately. She became involved in her field after developing an interest in laboratories while in Cameroon, and she has always been fascinated with machines and microscopes, so it has been a long journey for her. She maintains that being drawn into that field feels like an epiphany to her.
In the coming years, Ms. Eneme-Koge would like to have a higher position in the hospital and wants to share her knowledge and exchange ideas. In addition, she would like to be a consultant or inspector of a hospital lab.
