Florence Victoria Etefia, Psychologist and Teacher, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Health Care Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in education and psychology.
Gifted with a kind and compassionate nature, Ms. Etefia desired to take on a profession in which she could help others. Today, she is a consultant and school psychologist, having offered her expertise as a special education teacher to the School District of Pontiac in Michigan for one decade. Throughout the duration of her career, Ms. Etefia recalls a shining moment was when she was given recognition and honor from the Business and Professional Women’s Clubs of Pontiac for being the first African American school psychologist in Pontiac School District. She attributes her success to her mentors, Dr. Robert Jackson, Dr. George and Dr. Parrish.
Ms. Etefia received a Bachelor of Arts from Michigan State University in 1968 and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Oakland University in 1972. She went on to matriculate at Wayne State University, where she achieved an Education Specialist Degree in 1977 and a Master of Arts in 1987. Presently, she holds membership with the Michigan Education Association, Pontiac Education Association and Delta Sigma Theta. To attest to her legacy, Ms. Etefia can also be found in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Education, Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, Who’s Who in the Midwest, Who’s Who in the World and Who’s Who of American Women.
