Jacqueline Irene Wert, Licensed Clinical Social Worker at Grove Counseling Associates, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Health Care Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of social services.

Ms. Wert’s interest in social services began while in college and received an opportunity with the Grove Counseling Associates around the same time she was accepted into graduate school. She initially pursued an education in psychology from the University of Iowa in 1964 before completing her Master of Social Work from the University of Illinois in 1974. Moreover, she received a certificate from the Family Institute of Chicago/Center for Family Studies at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, a certificate in medical billing and coding, and training in substance abuse.

Among numerous additional credentials, Ms. Wert is certified by the Council on Affordable Quality Healthcare, the LCSW, in Cinema Therapy, ethics for social work, practical psychopharmacology, and in quality care for HIV infected children and their families. She began her career as a nursing aide at the Psychopathic Hospital, in Iowa City, Iowa, from 1964 to 1965. She then became a caseworker in public assistance for the Cook County Department of Public Assistance from 1965 to 1968. Ms. Wert served as a child welfare worker for the Illinois Department of Children & Family Services before becoming a social work field experience placement from 1973 to 1974.

Currently, Ms. Wert owns and operates out of Grove Counseling Associates and is also dedicating her time to the Academy of Certified Social Workers and the National Association of Social Work. Notably, she has received a Certificate of Recognition for Team Performance in 1988 and 2002 and a Director’s Award as the Director of Illinois Children and Family Services. The highlight of Ms. Wert’s career has been anytime that she was able to find permanent homes for the children in the adoption programs. In additional recognition of her accomplishments in the field, she has been featured in the 23rd edition of Who’s Who of American Women.
