Dr. Scott is recognized for her dedication to nursing and women’s health, marked by more than a decade of dedicated service and leadership within both military and civilian health care settings. Since 2021, she has served as a certified nurse-midwife at the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, Defense Health Agency, where she is responsible for caring for patients from growing families in the military community. Dr. Scott’s role encompasses work in the triage unit and on the labor and delivery deck, delivering babies, managing laboring pregnant women and providing care in the postpartum unit. She also contributes to the education of future health care professionals by teaching in the 66G program for family medicine residents and by offering them opportunities to shadow her in clinical practice.
Before her current position, Dr. Scott was a certified nurse-midwife at SCWH from 2018 to 2020. In this capacity, she provided comprehensive care to women throughout pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period, further honing her expertise in women’s health and patient advocacy.
Between 2014 and 2018, Dr. Scott held multiple roles at CHI Franciscan Health, including certified nurse-midwife, women’s health nurse practitioner (board-certified), advanced registered nurse practitioner, and EPIC physician builder. Earlier in her career, she served as a registered nurse with the U.S. Department of Defense from 2010 to 2012, gaining valuable experience working with military families and addressing their unique health care needs. Dr. Scott began her professional journey as a registered nurse at Pediatric Services of America in 2008, providing pediatric care that laid the foundation for her commitment to family-centered health services.
In addition to her clinical roles, Dr. Scott has been an adjunct faculty member at the University of Cincinnati since 2019. Through this academic appointment, she has contributed to the development of future nurses by sharing her knowledge and fostering excellence in nursing education.
Throughout her career, Dr. Scott has demonstrated a passion for supporting teenagers, addressing teen pregnancy and promoting sexual health education. She is primarily dedicated to serving the military health care community, recognizing the unique challenges faced by service members and their families. A unique aspect of Dr. Scott’s career is her dedication to paramedical tattooing for breast cancer survivors, a pursuit rooted in her early interest in plastic surgery, as well as medical spa services aimed at enhancing self-esteem and holistic well-being among patients.
Dr. Scott’s educational background is both comprehensive and exemplary. She earned an Associate of Science in nursing from Florida State Community College and a Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Phoenix. She also holds a Master of Science, with certifications as a certified nurse-midwife and a women’s health nurse practitioner from Georgetown University, completed in 2014, as well as a Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Cincinnati in 2022. Dr. Scott remains a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, reflecting her commitment to advancing the profession through scholarship and service.
Among Dr. Scott’s proudest professional accomplishments is her recent work at the family medicine residency clinic at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, where she played an instrumental role in managing Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set metrics, including cervical cancer screenings. This experience broadened her perspective on expanding practice opportunities within family medicine programs and specialized fields like women’s health.
Dr. Scott’s commitment extends beyond clinical practice into civic engagement and volunteerism. She has served as an inaugural body member of the Army Women’s Initiative since 2023 and volunteers with March of Dimes, supporting initiatives that benefit military spouses and families.
In light of her success, Dr. Scott’s contributions have been recognized through several prestigious awards, including an Army Civilian Service Commendation Medal, an Educator of the Year for Graduate Medical Education at the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center and recognition among the Top 10 Nursing Preceptors at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, all in 2023. She also received a Daisy Award in 2025.
Dr. Scott attributes much of her success to the unwavering support of her husband, the encouragement of family members, and the guidance of exceptional mentors throughout her life. Looking ahead, she plans to establish her own practice focused on telemedicine or medical wellness spa services that integrate paramedical tattooing with comprehensive health care for women, men and teenagers, particularly emphasizing sexual health through a holistic approach to wellness.
