William Anthony Jeffrey, director at Wellness International Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Healthcare Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in pharmaceuticals.
Mr. Jeffrey has garnered decades of success in pharmaceuticals, beginning in 1982 as a staff pharmacist at Thrift Drug Company in Pittsburgh. Since 2022, he has served as the founder and director at Wellness International Inc., a company based in Guyana, to promote total body wellness through healthy weight management, eating, hydration, sleep, exercise, and environment. He also works as a part-time pharmacist at Organic Remedies, a medical marijuana dispensary in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, a position he has held since 2024. Mr. Jeffrey’s diverse background included working as a pharmacist for organizations such as Rite Aid Corporation and CVS in the United States and Princess Margaret Hospital in the Bahamas. He also served as a pharmacy technician training program coordinator at Success Training College in the Bahamas and as a quality control pharmacist at Guyana Pharmaceutical Corporation Ltd.
A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, Mr. Jeffrey received a Bachelor of Pharmacy in 1982. He is a licensed pharmacist and received a credential to administer injectables from the State Board of Pharmacy. In addition to his formal education, he is active in his professional community as a life member and past president of the Guyana Pharmacists’ Association and as a member of the Caribbean Association of Pharmacists. Civically, Mr. Jeffrey has been affiliated with the Guyana Medical Mission Inc. as a volunteer pharmacist and member of the Masonic Order.
During his remarkable career, Mr. Jeffrey had the opportunity to conduct research and publish an article on the use of antibiotics in Guyana. He has drawn significant satisfaction throughout his tenure, attributing much of his success to his passion for the field and ability to help others and connect with the community. In light of his hard work, Mr. Jeffrey received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Caribbean Association of Pharmacists and was recognized as the Pharmacy Champion by Rite Aid Corporation for two consecutive years. In the future, he aims to see everyone have access to health care and pharmaceuticals as a fundamental right while engaging in more volunteer work.
