With over two decades of experience, Mr. Allen has built a successful career in health care, specializing in physical therapy and prosthetics. He currently serves as a PRN physical therapist at both Barnes Jewish/Christian Extended Care and the Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis-St. Peters with BJC HealthCare, roles he has held since 2024 and 2022, respectively. Prior to this, he worked as a PRN physical therapist at St. Luke’s Rehabilitation Hospital with PAM Health from 2022 to 2024 and held leadership roles at NovaCare Prosthetics & Orthotics, where he was center manager and clinic prosthetist from 2018 to 2022. His experience also includes positions as rehabilitation director and program manager at Eclipse Home Health, and PRN physical therapist at SSM Health Rehabilitation Hospital with Select Medical Corporation from 2010 to 2017. Earlier in his career, from 2002 to 2016, he worked as a staff prosthetist and clinic manager at Hanger Clinic and held various physical therapy roles at SSM Health, Elliot Rehabilitation, and St. John’s Mercy Sports and Therapy.

In addition to his clinical experience, Mr. Allen has been actively involved in education. He currently serves as an adjunct professor in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Maryville University, a role he began in 2024, and has been a guest lecturer for the physical therapy assistant program at Jefferson College since 2019. He has also been an instructor for amputee rehabilitation specialist training since 2012. He contributed as a guest educator in the physical therapy department at Saint Francis Medical Center in 2023 and served as a guest lecturer in the doctor of physical therapy program at Maryville University from 2017 to 2023. His previous teaching roles include lecturing for the occupational therapy assistant program at St. Louis College of Health Careers from 2013 to 2017 and at Northwestern University Prosthetics-Orthotics Center in 2013. He has also dedicated his time as a guest educator at the annual spring conference for the Missouri Physical Therapy Association in 2019 and volunteered at a local church health fair.

Laying a solid educational foundation, Mr. Allen earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of Missouri in 1998, followed by a Bachelor of Science in health sciences in 2001, and a Master of Physical Therapy in 2002. He became a certified prosthetist through the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in 2011 and is a licensed physical therapist and ABC-certified prosthetist. He attributes his success to his unwavering commitment to providing the best possible care for his patients. He understands the significance of rehabilitation for individuals recovering from stroke, brain surgery, heart attack, or joint replacement and strives to treat his patients like his own family, a principle he instills in his students. In the coming years, he is focused on achieving his doctorate in physical therapy and expanding his role in teaching.
