Ms. Fordice previously found success as the co-owner of Maid Brigade of Northwest Houston alongside her husband between 1999 and 2023. During this time, she was additionally active as the president and the chief executive officer with Mental Health America of Greater Houston from 1999 to 2018. To support her professional ambitions, Ms. Fordice pursued an education at South Dakota State University, from which she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in child development and family studies in 1984.

Ms. Frodice began her career in the healthcare sector, initially focusing on addressing critical issues in medicine and mental health. During this time, she received opportunities to work at a number of esteemed medical schools including Rice University, the MD Anderson Cancer Center, and facilities throughout California and Chicago. Although she made a significant impact during these years, Ms. Frodice eventually shifted her attention toward helping nonprofit organizations, sacrificing financial gain for the chance to advocate for public policies and support mental health care efforts on a larger scale.

Among the many highlights of her career thus far, Ms. Fordice fondly recalls collaborating with numerous remarkable community and corporate leaders in Houston in advocating for equal coverage for mental health in employer benefit programs in the 2000s. As a result of their collective efforts, major energy companies voluntarily included mental health coverage in their benefits packages, demonstrating the positive impact of their work and helping to gather data to support their cause. 

Beyond her primary responsibilities, Ms. Fordice has participated in numerous endeavors outside of her immediate circles. Since 2021, she has served as a board member for Veterans Advocacy Services Training, a further shining example of her commitment to those in need. She was also appointed as the executive director of The Harris Center Foundation for Mental Health and IDD in 2020, a role she holds to this day. Ms. Fordice has likewise shared her expertise as a contributing author for From Combat to the Community since 2011.

Ms. Fordice was formerly recruited to the boards for the Lone Star Veterans Association from 2013 to 2019 and The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD from 2017 to 2019. She has also been affiliated with the American Leadership Forum as a member and the Children’s Memorial Fund as a founding member. Furthermore, Ms. Fordice has been distinguished as a senior fellow of the Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute.

Ms. Fordice has attributed her success to her like-minded collaborators, with whom she shares her commitment to enact change and make a genuine impact on the world. In the coming years, she hopes to continue supporting nonprofit organizations with limited resources while prioritizing her delicate work-life balance. In addition to these goals, Ms. Fordice hopes to seize important opportunities however they may be presented, as she encourages others to always seek unexpected possibilities as they may lead to meaningful futures.
