With more than 15 years of experience to her credit, Ms. Danielson has excelled as the chief operating officer with Saint Luke’s Physician Group since 2024. Prior to this position, she was active as the director of hospital medicine and specialty services with Saint Luke’s Health System from 2021 to 2023 and the interim chief operating officer for Saint Luke’s Physician Group in 2023. Between 2013 and 2021, she served in a number of roles with Olathe Health, including as a nurse manager for the women’s center, a nursing director, and the director of primary care and nursing. Ms. Danielson began her career at the Overland Park Regional Medical Center, working as a registered nurse on the medical and surgical floor from 2008 to 2010 and a charge nurse in The Center for Women’s Surgery from 2010 to 2013.
To support her professional ambitions, Ms. Danielson pursued an education at Luther College, from which she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Nursing in 2008. Following this accomplishment, she obtained her Green Belt certification from The Lean Six Sigma Company in 2014. Ms. Danielson concluded her studies at The University of Kansas in 2015, graduating with a Master of Business Administration in human resources.
In light of her impressive undertakings, Ms. Danielson has accrued several accolades throughout her career. In 2007, she was presented with a Certificate of Excellence from The Mayo Clinic. She was subsequently recognized as the Nurse of the Year by The Overland Park Regional Medical Center in 2011. Furthermore, Ms. Danielson was honored as a Patriotic Employer by The Office of the Secretary of Defense in 2014.
Ms. Danielson has attributed her success to the invaluable guidance of her mentors, including her father and other esteemed leaders, as well as her team’s unwavering dedication toward their mission and the steadfast support of her family, especially her husband. Among the many highlights of her career, she is particularly proud of utilizing her stellar leadership skills to improve the GI practice at Saint Luke’s Physician Group, reducing staff turnover to less than 10 percent, clearing a referral queue of thousands of patients, and eliminating a massive backlog that caused unacceptable and lengthy scheduling delays. Looking toward the future, Ms. Danielson hopes to lead the way in integrating exciting recent system changes for BJC and Saint Luke’s that will make a significant impact and pave the way for a brighter future.
