With nearly 25 years of experience to her credit, Ms. Hunt-Washington has excelled as a licensed clinical social worker and therapist at Long Island Consultation Center since 2010. She began her career as an administrative assistant before contributing to Little Flower Children and Family Services of New York in 2001. She garnered a stellar reputation working with a family shelter since 2017. She established herself as a licensed clinical social worker, therapist, and owner of KLN Clinical Services NYC in 2023.
Before embarking on her professional path, Ms. Hunt-Washington pursued an education at Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School in 1974. She continued her academic efforts at Audrey Cohen College, now Metropolitan College of New York, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in human services in 1997. She concluded her studies at New York University, graduating with a Master of Social Work in 2002. She holds a license as a clinical social worker and is pursuing a certification in cognitive behavior therapy for self-esteem and eating disorders.
Beyond her responsibilities within the field, Ms. Hunt-Washington has participated in numerous endeavors outside of her professional circles. She volunteered at Angel Tree, local hospitals in her community, and as a missionary society member of Mt. Moriah AME Church. She was a member of the National Association of Social Workers and the SWEET Institute. In light of her impressive undertakings, she has accrued several accolades throughout her career, including being presented with the Years of Service Award by the Long Island Consultation Center.
Ms. Hunt-Washington’s trajectory toward success is a direct result of the invaluable personal experiences that have shaped her into a more compassionate and empathetic professional, particularly in the realm of mental health. Having walked in the shoes of those she serves, she is uniquely equipped to recognize and understand the challenges they face and provide effective support and guidance toward their healing and growth.
Despite starting her college education late in life, Ms. Hunt-Washington persevered and completed it, which is her most notable achievement. Her determination and hard work are a testament to the power of pursuing one’s dreams. In the immediate future, she intends to establish her own private practice, KLN Clinical Services NYC.
