He continued his academic efforts at the State University of New York at Fredonia, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in secondary education and American Literature in 1971. He concluded his studies at the Hunter College Graduate School of Social Work and obtained a Master of Social Work in 1987. He is a licensed clinical social worker, recovery coach, and universal life minister.
In addition to his primary vocation, he remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He was a member of four addiction and healthcare organizations, volunteered as a recovery couch, a counselor, and contributed as a mental and behavioral health critical incident debriefer. He was a member American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress, the National Center for Crisis Management, the Su Casa Coalition, the National Association of Social Workers, and the American Psychological Association. In light of his impressive undertakings, Mr. Lanzone has accrued several accolades throughout his career. He was presented with a recognition from the Town of Ramapo.
