He established himself as a fashion designer at Panzai for 30 years.
Mr. Francis continued his career as a community liaison in the New York City Metropolitan Area since 2003. He held the role of advocacy coordinator for FACES NY, Inc. from 2015 to 2021. He garnered expertise at the New York State Department of Health as a community engagement consultant for HIV in older adults and strategic planning since 2021. Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Francis pursued an education at Long Island University where he completed coursework in marketing.
Beyond his responsibilities within the field, Mr. Francis has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. He contributed to the South Bronx Housing Preservation as president of the tenants’ association and was a consumer committee member of the New York City Planning Council since 2003. In addition to his primary vocation, Mr. Francis remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He gave back as the former chairman of the Upper Manhattan Ending the Epidemic (ETE) and as a member of FACES NY.
In light of his impressive undertakings, Mr. Francis has accrued several accolades throughout his career. He was recognized with a proclamation from Rebirth of Advocacy in New York State and from Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer in 2020. He was presented with a Community Recognition Award from New York State in 2003 and an award from the Coalition on Positive Health Empowerment (COPE) in 2022. In the next five years, he intends to continue consulting and fighting for consumers’ voices.
