Jasmine Penter, private practice counselor and coach at Ignite, LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Healthcare Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in counseling.
With over 20 years of experience to her credit, Ms. Penter has excelled as a coach, private practice counselor, and owner of Ignite, LLC since 2011. She began her career as a co-program manager at ShelterCare from 2002 to 2006. She was active as an administrator and contributing editor at Integrated Research Services, Inc. from 2006 to 2011 and subsequently worked as an MSW intern at Laurel Hill Center and Signature Services from 2011 to 2012. She found further success as a care manager and medical social worker at PeaceHealth from 2013 to 2020.
Before embarking on her professional path, Ms. Penter pursued an education at Chatham College, now Chatham University, where she earned a Bachelor of Social Work in 2001. She continued her academic efforts at the University of Southern California and graduated with a Master of Social Work in 2013. She holds certifications as a licensed clinical social worker from the Oregon State Board of Licensed Social Workers, a clinical social work associate from the United Latino Students Association and has obtained her black belt in taekwondo.
In addition to her primary vocation, Ms. Penter remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to her areas of expertise. She was a member of the Oregon State Board of Licensed Social Workers and maintained involvement as a charitable donor for the American Cancer Society, the Unicorn Gang supporting the homeless community and contributed aid to victims of wars around the world. In light of her impressive undertakings, Ms. Penter has accrued several accolades throughout her career, including admittance into the Phi Alpha Honor Society at the University of Southern California in 2012.
Ms. Penter’s most notable achievement was starting her own business immediately after completing her graduate studies. With extensive experience in social work prior to launching Ignite, LCC, she was pleasantly surprised at her ability to manage the company while administering treatment to her clients. She attributes her success to her mother’s efforts on behalf of her family, and her relatives whose severe and persistent mental illness sparked her interest in becoming a counselor. In the immediate future, Ms. Penter hopes that she can start a foundation and create an outdoor space to perform walk-and-talk therapy sessions. She intends to finish her book and publish it later this year as well as produce a short film that she has developed.
