Jennifer Gauthier, LMSW, Clinician at the National Youth Advocate Program, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Healthcare Professionals for dedication, achievements and leadership in Social Work.

Ms. Gauthier is recognized for her expertise in social work, marked by three decades of dedicated service to youth and adolescents. Since 2023, she has served as a clinician with the National Youth Advocate Program, headquartered in Ohio, where her responsibilities include meeting with clients, scheduling individual sessions, attending staff meetings, facilitating weekly group therapy and conducting community meetings. Ms. Gauthier is recognized for her ability to positively impact her clients and witness their success firsthand.

Taking pride in helping younger clients develop coping mechanisms and engage constructively with family members, Ms. Gauthier also enjoys supporting young adults in achieving their goals. Her approach centers on planting the seeds of knowledge and teaching clients how to nurture them so they can realize their personal aspirations.

Before joining the National Youth Advocate Program, Ms. Gauthier spent 2022 as a lead case manager at CHRIS 180, a mental health care facility in Atlanta, Georgia, coordinating care plans and ensuring clients received comprehensive services tailored to their needs. She also held the title of clinician at CHRIS 180 from 2022 to 2023, providing therapeutic support to individuals navigating complex life challenges.

In 2021, Ms. Gauthier contributed her clinical skills at Waterford Country School, focusing on providing mental health support in an educational setting. She was previously employed by the Child and Family Agency of SE CT in Norwich as a mental health counselor in 2019 and as an engagement specialist from 2019 to 2021.

From 2014 to 2019, Ms. Gauthier was a clinician at Noank Community Support Services, a nonprofit social services agency in Groton, Connecticut. Earlier in her career, she held a position in residential habilitation at Lifespire Inc. for more than a decade, supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in achieving greater independence between 2001 and 2014. Ms. Gauthier began her professional journey as a rehabilitation technician at FEGS from 1996 to 2014. In this capacity, she assisted clients in developing life skills and accessing community resources.

Ms. Gauthier’s academic background has been instrumental in shaping her approach to social work. She earned a bachelor’s degree in social work from the College of New Rochelle in New Rochelle, New York, in 1996, and a Master of Social Work from Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts, in 2020. This advanced degree provided her with the theoretical foundation and practical skills necessary for effective clinical practice. Beyond her degrees, Ms. Gauthier has earned professional qualifications, including licensure as a master social worker in the state of Connecticut, underscoring her commitment to maintaining high ethical standards and continuing education in the field.

Ms. Gauthier attributes her success to the unwavering support of her family and her passion for making a meaningful difference in others’ lives. Although she initially aspired to become a nurse and envisioned herself working in hospital settings caring for patients, pivotal experiences led her toward social work, a field where she discovered her true calling by providing support and mental health assistance.

Looking ahead, Ms. Gauthier plans to obtain a license as a clinical social worker and continue making a positive impact on individuals across all age groups through direct service or by establishing a private practice. Her enduring dedication to empowering others has earned her recognition among peers and clients alike for fostering resilience and growth within the communities she serves.
