Before joining Mississippi Sports Medicine & Orthopedic Center, Mr. Scott was the head football athletic trainer at Michigan State University from 2022 to 2025. During his tenure, he led multidisciplinary teams in high-performance environments, overseeing athlete health management, injury prevention, rehabilitation and return-to-play protocols for a major National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I program. Mr. Scott’s proactive and communicative approach elevated individual and team outcomes, earning him respect among colleagues and athletes.

Between 2008 and 2022, Mr. Scott was an associate athletic trainer for the Jacksonville Jaguars of the National Football League. For over a decade with the organization, he developed a reputation for excellence in athlete care, performance optimization and injury management at the highest level of professional sports.

Mr. Scott’s educational background laid a strong foundation for his career achievements. He earned a Bachelor of Applied Science in athletic training from The University of Southern Mississippi in 2006, a master’s degree in sports medicine from The University of Southern Mississippi, and a second master’s degree in human movement from A.T. Still University in 2011. Mr. Scott’s academic pursuits were complemented by corrective exercise and performance enhancement certifications, which have enhanced his ability to deliver comprehensive care tailored to each athlete’s needs.

During his undergraduate studies, Mr. Scott completed two internships with the Jacksonville Jaguars training camp before securing a seasonal assistant position with the team following graduation. He then pursued graduate studies while serving as a graduate football athletic trainer at The Citadel for one year before being hired full-time by the Jaguars.

Beyond his formal education, Mr. Scott’s professional affiliations include membership in the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and former memberships with similar organizations. These associations have provided platforms for continued learning, networking and service within the industry.

Mr. Scott’s career is marked by his technical achievements and the meaningful relationships he has cultivated over two decades in the field. The impact of those he has met throughout his journey has shaped his professional philosophy and reinforced his dedication to supporting others. Notably, the path to his profession was shaped by personal experience. After suffering an injury while playing high school football, Mr. Scott was treated by outreach athletic trainers and physicians at Mississippi Sports Medicine. This pivotal moment sparked his interest in sports medicine, leading to his passion for helping others.
