Amber E. Windsor, PhD, Counselor at Inspira Health Network, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Healthcare Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Mental Health Services.
Dr. Windsor is an experienced mental health services provider affiliated with Inspira Health Network since 2019 as a child life counselor. Working closely with children and adolescents on the autism spectrum, she provides psychiatric care in matters of crisis, suicidal thoughts, self-harm, and psychosis, among other areas. In addition to providing regular patient care, Dr. Windsor is involved in crisis response when patients have meltdowns. Before pivoting into her role upon earning her advanced degree, she spent over a decade at her organization, ensuring the safety and security of all individuals entering the property as a parking lot cashier, beginning in 2005. She also served in the same capacity at Underwood Memorial Hospital during that same time frame.
Becoming highly educated to support her career objectives, Dr. Windsor received a Bachelor of Science in psychology from the University of Phoenix in 2015, followed by a master’s degree in general school counseling and a Doctor of Philosophy in advanced studies in human behavior from Capella University in 2018 and 2023, respectively. While working toward her degrees, she garnered experience as a school counseling intern at Rosa International Middle School and as a school counseling shadow at Estell Manor School. In addition to her formal education, Dr. Windsor holds several professional credentials, such as certification from the National Board for Certified Counselors and as a grief and loss specialist and anxiety and stress management specialist through the American School Counseling Association.
As a testament to her dedication to her field, Dr. Windsor is an active member of the American School Counselor Association and the New Jersey School Counselor Association. She is also affiliated with the National Society of Leadership and Success and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Developing a passion for helping others after being diagnosed with bipolar and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder as a teenager, Dr. Windsor had to spend time inpatient at a psychiatric unit, which changed her life. Today, she enjoys daily interactions with patients, knowing she is making a difference in their lives.
