Over the past few years, Dr. Gooden has been instrumental in working alongside a team of three other talented physicians, helping care for patients with the utmost care, compassion and support. Offering two clinic locations in Wichita and Hutchinson, Kansas, he also provides mobile care services, bringing his team of experts to patients’ homes, assisted living facilities, rehabilitation centers and other locations where care is needed.

Mid-Kansas Wound & Limb Care is becoming nationally recognized as a premier clinic specializing in treating wounds and diabetic ulcers, including venous ulcers, traumatic wounds and surgical dehiscence. The clinic offers physical therapy, advanced healing modalities, lymphatic massage, dietician services and diabetes education to patients.

Before launching his practice, Dr. Gooden spent over a decade in pediatric and emergency medicine. He notably served as a staff member at the Wound Care Center at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita from 2012 to 2023, where he remains affiliated. During this time, Dr. Gooden developed a passion for wound care.

In preparation for his medical career, Dr. Gooden received a Doctor of Medicine, with honors, from the University of Kansas Medical Center in 2004. Subsequently, he completed a general surgery residency in Spartanburg, South Carolina, and at Wesley Hospital. Dr. Gooden maintains a license to practice medicine in the state of Kansas.

As a dedicated member of his professional community, Dr. Gooden is affiliated with the Medical Society Association. He has also co-chaired and fundraised for the American Heart Association’s Heart Ball. Moreover, Dr. Gooden has become a frequent speaker at various wound care seminars, demonstrating his expertise to multiple audiences.

Civically, Dr. Gooden has become very active in his local church and believes that his faith and upbringing have been critical reasons for his company’s success. Due to his beliefs, he treats all patients and offers free or reduced-cost services to uninsured individuals.

Throughout his career, Dr. Gooden has garnered tremendous results for patients and has been successful in helping transform wound care practices in the U.S. and abroad. Many other physicians have followed his lead in taking a holistic approach to medicine, including treating the physical aspects of wound care and its emotional impact on patients.

Dr. Gooden has garnered respect for his work from throughout the local community. In May 2023, he was featured in an article in The Wichita Eagle, highlighting his work at Mid-Kansas Wound & Limb Salvage.

Attributing his success to his strong work ethic, Dr. Gooden aspires to expand his business locally by opening additional clinics in smaller cities that lack access to wound care.
