Dr. Nadir is distinguished for her expertise in the social services sector, with a career spanning over two decades. Since 2010, she has managed her thriving practice, RMNTherapy and Consulting Services LLC. Leveraging her extensive experience as a social worker serving children, youth and their families, Dr. Nadir now also supports clients in a private practice setting, relying on cognitive behavioral therapy and other evidence-based treatment modalities to support their needs.
Besides managing her practice, Dr. Nadir has been employed by the District of Columbia Public Schools as a clinical social worker since 2018. She began working for the school system in 2011 as dean of students, a role she maintained until 2016. She subsequently upheld the role of director of climate operations between 2016 and 2018.
Having begun her career in 2004 as a clinical therapist and team leader at Rock Creek Academy, Dr. Nadir used her experience to continually advance. From 2007 to 2009, she served as a pupil personnel worker at Prince George’s County Public Schools. She also excelled as a clinical social worker for the District of Columbia Public Schools between 2010 and 2011 before rejoining the school system in 2018.
Furthermore, Dr. Nadir found significant rewards as an adoption coordinator for Lutheran Social Services of the National Capital Area in Washington, D.C., from 2010 to 2012.
Highly educated, Dr. Nadir received a Bachelor of Science in psychology from Morgan State University in 1996, a Master of Social Work from Howard University in 2004 and a Doctor of Social Work from the University of Southern California in 2024. Adding to her professional credentials, she is a licensed clinical social worker in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia and holds multiple certifications, including as a school social worker, board-approved social work supervisor in Maryland and Virginia, school administrator in Washington, D.C., and childhood trauma specialist.
Dr. Nadir is a professional member of the National Association of Social Workers’ Maryland chapter. She is also active civically as a Prince George’s County housing commissioner. These affiliations recognize her dedication to both work and community.
As a dedicated researcher in her field, Dr. Nadir has extensively studied the impact of positive student-staff relationships and the social-emotional outcomes of black high school students classified with an emotional disability. Dr. Nadir has also become recognized for her expertise in women’s issues and as a trauma-informed specialist.
Highly accomplished in her respective field, Dr. Nadir has been lauded for her hard work. In 2023, she received a Gold Grander Award for Design Innovation. That same year, while pursuing her doctorate, she received the Grand Challenges for Social Work Doctoral Award from The New York Community Trust.
As Dr. Nadir prepares for the future, she intends to expand her client base. She is also passionate about speaking opportunities and collaborating with other clinicians to provide comprehensive support for those in need. Her primary focus is to enhance women’s mental wellness. Crediting her passion for the industry to the many life experiences she gained while coming of age, Dr. Nadir’s goal is to help others and speak up for the voiceless, reflecting on the hardships she had faced to make meaningful change.
