Shantonio L. Elliott, regional director of practice operations at Baptist Health, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Healthcare Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in health care and community leadership.
With nearly two decades of experience, Mr. Elliott has established a successful career in health care and community leadership. Since 2024, he has served as the regional director of practice operations at Baptist Health. His prior roles include practice administrator at Saline Health System from 2023 to 2024, senior clinic operations manager at Saline Health System from 2022 to 2023, and supervisor of medical management operations at Centene Corporation from 2019 to 2022. He was also program manager at Jefferson Comprehensive Health in 2018 and 2019, district manager at ARcare from 2011 to 2017, and prevention specialist at Conway County Community Service Inc. from 2008 to 2011. Earlier in his career, he worked as a heart transplant assistant at Baptist Health in 2007 and 2008 and as a MESH survey worker for the Arkansas Minority Health Commission in 2007.
Mr. Elliott also dedicates his time to various civic endeavors, having served as a board member of Leadership Saline County since 2023, and Central Arkansas Sphinx Foundation (CASF) liaison since 2022, supporting its Pathway to Food Security and Equity initiative. CASF, a 501(c)(3) organization, provides educational scholarships and promotes community development, education, and literacy by collaborating with the USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service to assist socially disadvantaged and low-income individuals in Central Arkansas. Additionally, he has been a board member of We Hear You Inc., a non-profit focused on recovery for chemically and behaviorally dependent individuals, since 2021. He also serves as scholarship chair for the Roy and Mamie Elliott Foundation, a position he has held since 2020, and as vice president since 2018. He has also served as a secretary for the Central Arkansas Sphinx Foundation in 2021 and 2022, financial secretary for Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. Pi Lambda Chapter from 2021 to 2022, and debutante treasurer for the Central Arkansas Sphinx Foundation from 2018 to 2022. Additionally, he served as vice president of the Arkansas AIDS Foundation from 2014 to 2017 and contributed to the minority action committee of the American Heart Association from 2007 to 2015. He has also been actively involved with the American Heart Association and March of Dimes.
Laying a solid educational foundation, Mr. Elliott earned a Bachelor of Science in public health education and promotion from the University of Central Arkansas in 2006, a master’s in health administration in health care administration and management from Webster University in 2008, and a Master of Arts in human resources management and personnel administration from Webster University in 2010. He also holds memberships with the American College of Healthcare Executives, the Urban League of Arkansas, the Arkansas Medical Group Management Association, the Arkansas Public Health Association, the National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE), NAHSE Memphis, and the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity.
Reflecting on his path, Mr. Elliott takes pride in his role in the collaborative effort to construct a parking facility for Centene Corporation, a project that required extensive coordination with the state of Arkansas and the Department of Human Services. In light of his impressive undertakings, he received the Lifepoint Health Mercy Award in 2024. He attributes his success to the strong foundation laid by his parents, who instilled in him essential values and the drive to create positive change. Looking to the future, he aspires to become chief executive officer of a prominent health organization while pursuing a doctoral degree to deepen his expertise in health care. His ambition is to achieve a C-suite position and further his impact on the industry. To aspiring professionals, he emphasizes the importance of taking one step at a time and cultivating empathy by putting oneself in others’ shoes, key traits for navigating and succeeding in the health care field.
