Besides her professional success, she enjoys being active as a community volunteer, providing Christian counseling services to those who lack insurance and those who do not qualify for Medicare. She also supports Second Harvest and various homeless shelters and donates to River of Life Church and other nonprofits. Grateful for her accomplishments, Ms. Smallwood is most proud of establishing her practice in a socioeconomically oppressed area of her state that desperately needs her service. Highlighting her hard work, she was recognized with the Anything Besides Co-Dependency Award for Best Practices in Substance Abuse Treatment.
