Jacqueline Gilmer, director of admissions at The Right Staff and owner and counselor at Salvaged Soul Counseling, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Healthcare Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in mental health.

With over a decade of experience to her credit, Ms. Gilmer has established a successful career in counseling, specializing in substance abuse. She currently serves as owner and counselor at Salvaged Soul Counseling since 2024, where she leads a practice offering individual and family therapy services with a focus on mental health, trauma recovery, and resilience building. The practice also provides a faith-centered approach upon request and prioritizes serving the LGBTQIA community. Additionally, since 2024, she serves as director of admissions at The Right Step. Her experience also includes clinical director of outpatient services at Cross Creek Hospital in 2024, director of clinical services at Evoke Wellness from 2023 to 2024, clinical supervisor at Banyan Treatment Centers in 2023, and clinical director at Recovery Unplugged from 2022 to 2023. She also served as lead counselor for Travis County Adult Probation, Community Supervision and Corrections Department from 2017 to 2020, and worked in dual diagnosis counseling with Women’s Protective Services from 2016 to 2017.

Laying an educational foundation, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, cum laude, from Lubbock Christian University in 2011 and a Master of Science in Counseling from the same institution in 2013. She also holds certifications as a licensed professional counselor supervisor and licensed chemical dependency counselor and is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing and Accelerated Resolution Therapy. Additionally, she is a membership of the Texas Association of Addiction Professionals and the Hays County Suicide Prevention Coalition. Reflecting on her path, her journey into substance abuse counseling began during her practicum at Lubbock Christian University where she developed group curriculums, drawing from her personal experiences with family substance abuse to deepen her understanding and fuel her passion. This eventually led to the creation of Salvaged Soul Counseling.

Looking to the future, Ms. Gilmer aspires to establish a comprehensive faith-based outpatient center offering a range of services, including partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient care, and standard outpatient programs. While her expertise lies in faith-based programming, she is committed to inclusivity by providing both faith-based and non-faith-based tracks, along with specialized tracks tailored for trauma, women, and the LGBTQ community. Her vision includes collaborating with community organizations to integrate psychiatric services, case management, and wrap-around care, addressing the critical vulnerabilities individuals face at the outpatient level and reducing the risk of relapse.
