Setting forth an inspiring story of overcoming life’s challenges, Ms. Finley has devoted more than ten years to social work and mental health support. She was driven to pursue this career path as a result of surviving significant abuse and trauma in her youth. Ms. Finley first experienced the joy of helping others as a day camp counselor at Timber Creek Camp for several years beginning in 2011. She went on to contribute as a student life student worker at Delta State University, a social worker intern at The University of Mississippi Medical Center’s Cancer Clinic, a tutor for the Bolivar County Literacy Council, and a graduate assistant for The University of Mississippi’s Child Welfare Training Academy. In 2017, Ms. Finley completed a social work internship at Haven House, followed by further work as a graduate assistant at The University of Mississippi’s Office of Leadership and Advocacy and Office of Student Conduct and Resolution. Her recent work history includes time as a counselor and teacher with Eckerd Connects and a program therapist with The Wave International.
In 2021, Ms. Finley joined Hope & Healing Counseling Services LLC as a therapist. She currently serves as a clinician and telehealth therapist for the same organization. In this role, Ms. Finley provides counseling and treatment for patients ages 13 and up who are dealing with mental health, emotional, mood and substance abuse disorders. She facilitates better treatment for the community at large by designing staff training sessions, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and performing outreach for local referrals.
Prior to embarking upon her professional journey, Ms. Finley built a reliable academic foundation for herself, starting with an Associate of Arts in liberal arts and sciences from the East Central Community College in 2014. She then obtained a bachelor’s degree in social work from Delta State University in 2016. Subsequently, Ms. Finley earned a Master of Science in Social Work from The University of Mississippi in 2017. Dedicated to continued education, she has solidified her credentials with certification in youth mental health first aid and in couples therapy through The Gottman Institute.
Ms. Finley has been a member of several important organizations relevant to her field. Among others, she is affiliated with the National Association of Social Workers, the Phi Kappa Phi honor society, and the Golden Key International Honour Society. Ms. Finley believes her background in trauma and seeking mental health support separates her from others in her field. She showcases a unique understanding of the resources and insight many of her clients need to help improve their lives.
Beyond her primary vocation, Ms. Finley prides herself on civic engagement. She has previously volunteered with Clarke-Venable Baptist Church, Grace Hospice, the Cleveland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and the Bolivar County Head Start Program. Since 2022, Ms. Finley has offered her time as the wellness director for the Union for Reform Judaism’s Camp Kalsman.
Outside of her career, Ms. Finley is a loving wife. Moving forward, she is focused on establishing a strong online presence through her brand, Clairely Empowered, offering her services to even more people. Ms. Finley aims to provide affordable and reliable mental health care that is easy to access. Additionally, she plans to explore nature therapy, with a long-term ambition of opening her own brick-and-mortar location.
