With nearly a decade and a half of experience, Ms. Rao has built a successful career in health care, specializing in public health, contact tracing, epidemiological research, strategic planning, disease occurrence and outbreaks, validation and quality controls, clinical documentation, risk management, and compliance. She also has extensive experience working with public and private stakeholders, coaching and mentoring, new hire orientations, IT systems, training materials, process development, and public health emergencies. Since 2023, she has excelled as the international disaster preparedness outreach specialist at AmeriCorps, Sewa International. In this role, she actively engages with underserved communities, visiting senior centers and schools to educate them about disaster preparedness. She conducts speaking engagements, workshops, and training sessions to ensure communities are prepared before, during, and after disasters. She also provides essential materials like cheat sheets and waterproof bags to help individuals protect important documents during emergencies.
Her experience also includes serving as corporate operations executive at Centric Mental Health in County Dublin, Ireland, from 2022 to 2023, and as business manager for the HSE COVID-19 Contact Management Programme with the Health Service Executive in County Dublin from 2021 to 2022. She also held roles as operations manager and team lead at the HSE COVID-19 Contact Tracing Centre, Health Service Executive, County Dublin from 2020 to 2021, and as operations lead for the COVID-19 Contact Tracing Centre in Dublin in 2020. Prior to these roles, she worked as an exam invigilator at the Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology in Leinster, Ireland, from 2019 to 2020, and held various cardiology-focused positions at IQVIA, including cardiology specialist from 2017 to 2018, senior cardiology associate from 2014 to 2017, and cardiology associate from 2010 to 2014. Earlier in her career, she served as medico manager at BKV in 2010. She has made significant contributions to the field, including as a contributor to the “Questionnaire, Training, and QA Scoping Exercise” with the International Association of National Public Health Institutes in 2022, and to the “Enhanced Investigation of Healthcare Workers” report with Ireland’s Department of Health, National Public Health Emergency Team in 2020.
Ms. Rao is dedicated to humanitarian efforts, serving as a senior ambassador and fundraiser for UNICEF in Dublin, Ireland. She also volunteers with People For Animals in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, and previously volunteered as a student with PETA in Mumbai. Laying a solid educational foundation, she earned a Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery from Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Ayurved & Research Centre in 2009, followed by a Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Research from CREMA University in 2010. She furthered her education with a Master of Public Health from University College Dublin, Ireland. In addition, she has completed the Community Health Worker Course at the University of Houston and holds certifications in Healthcare Provider CPR/AED for Adult, Child & Infant, Youth Mental Health First Aid USA, and Adult Mental Health First Aid USA. She has also completed the “Introduction to Incident Command System, ICS-100,” National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN) 101, and Family Centered Case Management. She attributes her success to her strong work ethic, unwavering dedication, and consistent focus on her goals.
