Lisa Gibbs Anderson, MLS, administrative director of laboratory services at McLeod Health Seacoast, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Health Care Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in medical technology and life sciences.
Eager to work in the health care industry but preferring a role that is not patient-facing, Mrs. Anderson has built an esteemed career of more than 30 years. As of 2023, she has taken on the role of director of laboratory services for McLeod Health Seacoast. In this position, Mrs. Anderson showcases her wide range of skills with equally broad responsibilities, including budgeting, personnel management, compliance, improving efficiency and collaborating with nearly 50 other staff members. Prior to this, she gained experience as a laboratory manager at the New Hanover Regional Medical Center and the Lexington Medical Center. Mrs. Anderson’s professional life began in 1997, when she joined the American National Red Cross as a collection specialist. She stayed with that organization for almost 20 years, one of her proudest accomplishments, and was promoted to collection operation manager, division director for problem management and division director for collections.
Mrs. Anderson’s success has been backed up by a strong academic foundation. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in biology and medical technology from Francis Marion University in 1989. Subsequently, Mrs. Anderson earned a second Bachelor of Science in medical technology from the McLeod Regional Medical Center in 1992. She has furthered her credentials with numerous certifications, including applying Lean principles in health care from the New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Lean manufacturing from ARC Group Worldwide, and medical laboratory science from the American Society for Clinical Pathology. Mrs. Anderson was honored with the Employee Excellence Award in Management from the American National Red Cross in 2008. She credits her success to perseverance and hard work.
Beyond her career, Mrs. Anderson is a devoted wife and mother to two children. She is committed to moving forward with her work with McLeod Seacoast. As she looks to the future, Mrs. Anderson hopes to expand McLeod’s new laboratory, increasing its capacity and ability to deliver positive health outcomes to patients.
