Company: Therapy.TheOutlet
Location: Alexandria, Louisiana, United States

Kala Jenkins, LPC, Licensed Professional Counselor, Founder, and Owner at Therapy.TheOutlet, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Healthcare Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in mental health services.

With years of experience to her credit, Ms. Jenkins has excelled as a licensed professional counselor, founder and owner with Therapy.TheOutlet since 2023. In these positions, she provides her clients with eclectic and individualized mental health services, including behavioral therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy, by establishing a safe and creative environment. Notably, she treats many cases of adults with severe depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Moreover, Ms. Jenkins has been active as an assessor with Eckerd Connects since 2020, conducting psychosocial assessments for children to guide them toward necessary services and resources within their community.

Between 2016 and 2022, Ms. Jenkins served as a licensed professional counselor with Allegiant Resources and Counseling Services LLC. Prior to this post, she refined her skills as a mental health professional with Merakey from 2014 to 2016 and as a mental health therapist with the Provisions Group Home in Lecompte, Louisiana from 2016 to 2017. In 2013, she briefly worked as a mental health counselor with the Rehabilitation Services of Central Louisiana. Ms. Jenkins began her career as a social worker with Easter Seals between 2008 and 2009.

To support her professional ambitions, Ms. Jenkins pursued an education at Louisiana State University of Alexandria, from which she earned an Associate of Arts in general studies in 2008. She continued her academic efforts with a bachelor’s degree in social work from Northwestern University in 2010. She concluded her formal studies at Liberty University in 2012, graduating with a master’s degree in mental health counseling. Following these accomplishments, Ms. Jenkins obtained her license as a professional counselor in 2014, and attends additional training related to trauma care to this day.

Beyond her primary responsibilities, Ms. Jenkins has participated in numerous endeavors outside of her immediate circles. A dedicated mother to three wonderful children, she has contributed to the New Morning Star Baptist Church as a youth leader, missionary, choir member, and Sunday School teacher, often incorporating her knowledge of mental health treatments into her lessons. She has also found success as a therapist as part of the Raw Ingenuity Mentor Program, a charitable organization based out of Pineville, Louisiana. Furthermore, Ms. Jenkins has been recruited as a board member for the Rapides Foundation, a philanthropic organization that develops initiatives and offers grants with the mission of improving the health of communities throughout Central Louisiana.

Ms. Jenkins has attributed her success to her faith in Jesus Christ. Raised in a household where she was denied a voice and lacked many resources, she was initially drawn to a career in social work due to her desire to provide essential services to the families of children with developmental disabilities. She eventually shifted her attention toward mental health services to aid children in recognizing and healing from trauma. In addition to her professional development, she cites her experiences helping children from an extremely difficult group home environment as the highlight of her career thus far. Looking toward the future, Ms. Jenkins hopes to develop a cognitive behavioral therapy program that can reach children and adults worldwide.
