Laying a solid educational foundation, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in environmental population and organism biology from the University of Colorado Boulder in 1981, a PhD in biochemistry from the University of Colorado, Denver in 1994, and a Master of Science in human nutrition and functional medicine from the University of Western States in 2018. She holds certifications, including the Master of Nutrition Response Testing Certificate from Ulan Nutritional Systems and Certification in Integrative Nutrition Health Coaching from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.
Dr. Sternquist takes pride in her passion for helping individuals by designing personalized regimens that integrate exercise, nutrition, and science. She attributes her success to following her heart and pursuing her passion with dedication. In the coming years, she aims to continue working with clients to enhance their well-being. Additionally, she plans to reduce her practice to three days a week to allocate more time to her hobbies and personal interests. In offering advice to aspiring professionals, she emphasizes the importance of always following your passion. Reflecting on her own career, she embarked on a journey in the scientific field, diving into clinical research, biology, and biochemistry, and found herself surrounded by male colleagues. Despite the challenges, she remained determined and committed to her purpose. She expressed a desire for more guidance and support tailored to women’s experiences in male-dominated industries. Upon transitioning into the field of nutrition, she observed a striking contrast, with women predominantly leading the industry. Looking back, she wished she had received advice on carving out her own path rather than relying on the achievements of others.
