Tamara Rahim Grow, PhD, CMPP, director of medical communications and content at Pfizer, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Health Care Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in health care and clinical research.

An expert in immunology, microbiology, and neuropharmacology, Dr. Grow has successfully elevated scientific knowledge and mentorship within the medical community over nearly two decades as a professional. Since 2024, she has excelled as the director of medical communications and content for Pfizer. She is additionally active with Teva Pharmaceuticals, to which she provides support for publication strategy and oversees the delivery of medical affairs. She previously served as a director and senior director of scientific services for Parexel International Corporation from 2017 to 2021, providing global operational and functional leadership of scientific staff and managing $13 million worth of work across climate and biotech companies. Prior to her tenure at Parexel, Dr. Grow worked at ETHOS Health Communications from 2010 to 2017, rising from the position of senior medical writer to director of scientific services. She was also employed as a senior scientific communications manager at AlphaBioCom from 2007 to 2010, and as a medical writer at ApotheCom Associates in 2006.

Dr. Grow’s pursuit of higher education began at Long Island University, where she received a Bachelor of Science in biology with university honors and a Master in Science in medical microbiology. She later earned a PhD in immunology and microbiology from the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University in 2003, remaining at the school to complete a postdoctoral fellowship from 2003 to 2006. In addition to her coursework, Dr. Grow furthered her educational development as a research assistant at Cornell University and as a researcher at the Center for Substance Abuse Research at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University. She has also garnered certification from the SHRM Women in Leadership Institute, is certified in AI fundamentals for non-data scientists from the University of Pennsylvania, and is a certified medical publication professional by way of the International Society for Medical Publication Professionals.

Among her accolades, Dr. Grow has been honored with Research and Travel Awards from the National Institute on Drug Abuse. She has served as co-lead of the Black Employee Group, and is a member of the International Society for Medical Publication Professionals, the Medical Affairs Professional Society, and various diversity groups, including Asian STEM. Additional civic engagements to her credit include stints as a CRA Wisdom Circle Mentor at Parexel International and as a catechism co-instructor at a local church. Attributing her success to her Catholic faith and the guidance of influential women leaders in her life, Dr. Grow aims to continue developing her skills in medical affairs, and aspires to one day head an organization that caters to PhDs with a Catholic background.
