Tamara Rahim Grow, PhD, CMPP, director of medical communications and content at Pfizer, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Health Care Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in health care and medical communications.

An expert in immunology, microbiology, and neuropharmacology, Dr. Grow has successfully elevated scientific knowledge and mentorship within the medical community over nearly two decades as a professional. She is currently director of medical communications and content at Pfizer where she oversees the delivery of materials for medical affairs teams, and she was previously a medical communications manager at Teva Pharmaceuticals. Prior to her career in the pharmaceutical industry, Dr. Grow served as a director and senior director of scientific services for Parexel International from 2017 to 2024, providing global operational and functional leadership of scientific staff and overseeing the successful delivery of content for several pharmaceutical and biotech companies. Prior to her tenure at Parexel, Dr. Grow worked at ETHOS Health Communications from 2010 to 2017 and rose to the position of vice president of the Content Development Department. She dedicated her time to developing the skills of the medical writing staff and creating the processes and procedures for high-quality scientific content. She was also employed as a senior scientific communications manager at AlphaBioCom, and as a medical writer at ApotheCom Associates earlier in her career.

Dr. Grow’s pursuit of higher education began at Long Island University, where she received a Master of Science in medical microbiology and a Bachelor of Science in biology with university honors. She later earned a PhD in immunology and microbiology from the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University in 2003, remaining at the school to complete a postdoctoral fellowship from 2003 to 2006. In addition to her coursework, Dr. Grow furthered her educational development as a research assistant at Cornell University and as a researcher at the Center for Substance Abuse Research at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University. She has also garnered certification from the SHRM Women in Leadership Institute, is certified in AI fundamentals for non-data scientists from the University of Pennsylvania, and is a certified medical publication professional by way of the International Society for Medical Publication Professionals (ISMPP).

Among her accolades, Dr. Grow has been honored with multiple research and travel awards from the National Institute on Drug Abuse and academic institutions. She has served as co-lead of resource groups for Black employees, and she is a member of ISMPP and the Medical Affairs Professional Society. Additional civic engagements to her credit include stints as a CRA Wisdom Circle mentor at Parexel International and as a catechism co-instructor at a local church.
