Title: Director of Pharmacy and Title X Director
Company: One Health
Location: Billings, Montana, United States

Stephanie M. Chosa, director of pharmacy and title x director at One Health, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Healthcare Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in pharmaceuticals.

With nearly a decade and a half of experience to her credit, Dr. Chosa has established herself in the field of pharmacology, specializing in general pharmacy services, drug information, and collaboration. She currently excels as the Title X director of Bighorn Valley Health Center Inc. Of One Health, a role she has held since 2021. Additionally, she has served as the pharmacy director at the same company since 2015. In this capacity, she ensures the operational and functional aspects of the pharmacy department, keeps track of stock and availability of medicines for patients, and optimizes and secures resources for pharmacy-related services or medication. Prior to this, she was a staff pharmacist at Indian Health Service from 2011 to 2015.

Laying a foundation for her future success, Dr. Chosa’s educational journey culminated with a Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Montana, which she earned in 2011. Additionally, she holds memberships with the American Pharmacists Association, the largest professional organization of pharmacists in the U.S., dedicated to advancing the profession, promoting patient care, and advocating for pharmacists’ interests, and the Montana Pharmacy Association, a professional organization that represents and supports pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and pharmacy students in Montana, aiming to advance the practice of pharmacy, promote patient care, and advocate for the interests of its members within the state. Outside of her professional endeavors, she volunteers her time with animal shelters and health fairs in her community.

Reflecting on her career, Dr. Chosa explains that her decision to become a pharmacist stemmed from a career assessment she did in high school, which highlighted her strong affinity for math and science. Upon exploring various health care professions during college, she discovered a particular interest in pharmaceuticals and the medicinal aspects of medications. Despite her initial expectation of pursuing an inpatient pharmacy career, her experiences during rotations and her first job at Crow Northern Cheyenne Hospital introduced her to a blend of outpatient and inpatient services. It was there that she found a deeper satisfaction in the community pharmacy setting, where she valued building relationships with patients and witnessing their progress over time. This preference ultimately led her to pursue leadership opportunities, including establishing the pharmacy program at Bighorn Valley Health Center.

Dr. Chosa’s takes great pride in having started a pharmaceutical program from scratch and opening four new pharmacies. She attributes her success to her unwavering determination and hard work, emphasizing that she never backs down once she sets her mind to something. In the coming years, she is dedicated to continuing her roles in leadership and challenging herself to continue learning. She aims to push herself to the limits and see how far she can go. As a pharmacist, she is determined to get more involved in clinics by staffing at least one day a week. She believes this will keep her grounded and connected with patients.

Additionally, Dr. Chosa aims to transition into broader administrative roles beyond pharmacy, potentially involving higher-level leadership positions that contribute to overarching organizational strategies. While she envisions roles such as vice president or similar senior positions, she emphasized a commitment to remaining connected to frontline staff and operational details.
