Sandra Diaz, PhD, chief executive officer at Zero Point Consulting, Coaching & Psychological Services, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Healthcare Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in health care.
Dr. Diaz has dedicated herself to the health care field, excelling as the chief executive officer of Zero Point Consulting, Coaching & Psychological Services, a role she has held since 2022. In this capacity, she serves as a medical consultant who reviews all disability applications in Massachusetts. She specializes in the psychological aspect of the cases, dealing with individuals who have mental health issues, such as depression, schizophrenia, and other related conditions. After reviewing the applicant’s records, she determines whether they qualify for disability benefits and processes the case before sending it back for further action. She also served as a clinical psychologist for the Department of Veterans Affairs in 2022. During her time there, she was responsible for working with combat veterans who were suffering from PTSD and substance abuse issues, providing individual counseling and family group therapy. Additionally, she has served as a medical consultant at the Social Security Administration since 2010.
Laying a solid educational foundation, she earned a Bachelor of Science in psychology, followed by a Master of Education in counseling psychology from the University of Alberta in Edmonton in 1993, a Master of Arts in clinical psychology from the Fielding Graduate University, and a PhD from the Fielding Graduate University in 2005. She has also authored several publications, including “Your Heart Is The Master, Your Heart Is The Master Xlibris,” “Second Coming: Awakening the God Within,” and an online course, “Unleashing the Female Power Within.” In order to stay up to date with advancements in the field, she is an active member of the American Psychological Association.
Reflecting on her career, Dr. Diaz pursued counseling due to her extensive educational background in Canada and the U.S. After completing her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education in counseling in Canada, she aspired to further her studies with a PhD in the US. She began her career at an Asian American community mental health agency, having previously completed her practicum and internship there. Her journey included a rare postdoctoral program at the VA in Massachusetts, which led to her consulting for a Native American veterans project. Eventually, she was hired for the compensated work therapy program at the VA. Her passion for psychology was sparked at age 14, inspired by her natural ability to listen and help her classmates with their problems.
Dr. Diaz’s most notable accomplishment is her remarkable record of never losing a veteran to suicide, a significant achievement given that, on average, a veteran dies by suicide every 20 minutes. Her unique ability to connect with her clients, making them feel genuinely understood and heard, has been instrumental in this success. She feels fortunate to have positively impacted the lives of those she serves and values the strong relationships she has formed with her coworkers. In the coming years, she aspires to reach out to more people, actively sharing her methods and how she connects with her clients. Her ultimate goal is to teach as many people as possible how to heal holistically, transcending physical ailments and understanding their spiritual essence.
