Ms. Gebrewold began her career as a clinical nurse specialist at UMB from 2010 to 2022, where she observed a rising trend of youth struggling with depression, low self-esteem, and the challenges of navigating life changes, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.
To support her professional ambitions, Ms. Gebrewold previously obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in research and medical technology and a master’s degree in clinical nursing leadership from the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2007 and 2010, respectively. She subsequently graduated from Western Governors University with a Master of Science in nursing informatics in 2020. Recognized for her compassionate care, she was notably honored with the DAISY Award by The DAISY Foundation in 2012. She was likewise celebrated as the Compassionate Caregiver of the Year by Mercy Medical Center, part of Mercy Health, in 2022. Selected for inclusion in the National Dean’s List in 2004, Ms. Gebrewold was presented with the Exemplary Award of the Year from Debregenet Medehanialem Church.
Ms. Gebrewold has attributed her success to the unwavering support and trust of those in her life, including her church community, family, and clients. Committed to serving others with gratitude and dedication, she cites her ability to effectively communicate with and inspire young adults to become involved with positive activities as a highlight of her career thus far. Looking toward the future, Ms. Gebrewold aims to expand her influence by opening five young adult training centers across the country in the coming years and providing young individuals with the skills and training necessary to lead fulfilling and successful lives.
