Kristine Joan Dyer, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, nurse practitioner at CHI Memorial Hospital and Catholic Health Initiatives and nocturnist nurse practitioner at Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Healthcare Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in healthcare and nursing.

With many years of experience to her credit, Ms. Dyer has excelled as a nocturnist nurse practitioner with Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford since 2016 and a nurse practitioner with CHI Memorial Hospital, part of the Catholic Health Initiatives system, since 2021. She has been additionally active as a nurse practitioner with TeamHealth since 2014 and an adjunct faculty member at Tusculum University since 2017. She previously served as a registered nurse in the intensive care unit of Parkwest Hospital from 2007 to 2009, a nurse practitioner with TakeCare Health Systems from 2009 to 2014, and a nurse practitioner with Premier Surgical Associates from 2008 to 2015. Ms. Dyer began her career as a registered nurse in the neonatal intensive care unit at the University of Tennessee Medical Center between 2001 and 2008.

To support her professional ambitions, Ms. Dyer pursued an education at Pensacola Christian College, from which she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1998. During this time, she refined her skills in a number of intensive care units, garnering valuable expertise in neuro, cardiac, open heart, and trauma response for both the pediatric and adult intensive care departments. She concluded her studies at Carson-Newman University in 2008, graduating with a Master of Science in Nursing and his certification as a family nurse practitioner. Notably, Ms. Dyer initially desired to become a veterinarian before financial and practical reasons limited her progress in the discipline, and she shifted her attention toward nursing upon her parent’s encouragement.

Attributing her success to her upbringing, as her parents instilled in her a disciplined work ethic, Ms. Dyer was proudly presented with America’s Top Nurse Award from the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) in 2022. Among the many highlights of her career thus far, she is incredibly proud of obtaining her graduate degree, which she hopes will enable her to advance in her field and continue helping people change their lives for the better. Looking toward the future, Ms. Dyer aims to garner a Doctor of Nursing Practice and a Doctor of Philosophy and eventually affect the next generation of healthcare providers as a professor.
