With 30 years of experience to her credit, Ms. Hudson has excelled as a senior certified pharmacy technician at Mariano’s since 2017. Licensed to practice in Alabama, Her responsibilities include inputting and filling prescriptions, general housekeeping, and ensuring that the pharmacy is ready to go at all times. She began her career as a pharmacy technician and bookkeeper at Walgreens from 1990 to 1992. She was active as a pharmacy technician at Target from 1993 to 1999. Before embarking on her professional path, she completed certifications as a pharmacy technician from Joliet Junior College, the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board, and the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
Beyond her responsibilities within the field, Ms. Hudson has participated in numerous endeavors outside of her professional circles. She was a troop committee chair and den leader with the Boy Scouts of America. She volunteered at St. Margaret Hospital. In addition to her primary vocation, she remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to her areas of expertise. She was a member of the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board and the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy.
In light of her impressive undertakings, Ms. Hudson has accrued several accolades throughout her career. She was selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Marquis Who’s Who in America. She was presented with the Best of the Best Pharmacy Technician Award by SingleCare in 2023.
Growing up, Ms. Hudson always had a desire to work in the medical field. As a child, she was captivated by the TV show “Emergency!” and admired the characters Dixie McCall and Johnny Gage and the way in which they handled emergencies with ease and confidence. Initially, she pursued her dream by becoming a volunteer EMT firefighter but soon realized it was not for her. Her next goal was to become an emergency nurse, so she started working as an EMT.
Eventually, Ms. Hudson became a certified nursing assistant, working in a nursing home on the Alzheimer’s floor. This experience proved invaluable, as it helped her care for her own parents, mother-in-law, and patients who needed specialized attention and care. She attributes her success to her love for people and desire to help them. In the immediate future, she aims to keep her patients happy and continue her work.
