She continued her academic pursuit at Adler University, where she earned a PhD in clinical psychology in 2015, culminating her education with an immersive focus on mental health.
Dr. Sejdaras initiated her career in the non-profit sector, contributing to inpatient and outpatient services affiliated with Detroit-based organizations. Her foundational experiences encompassed diverse client settings, including work with incarcerated individuals, youth in educational environments, and those confronting substance use disorders and trauma. Transitioning to private practice in 2013, she established Sejdaras Psy.D & Associates in Chicago, specializing in anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression, and LGBTQ+ support, leading a team of five providers.
Acknowledged as an emerging leader, Dr. Sejdaras maintains active involvement in the American Psychological Association and the Albanian-American Community of Illinois. Her commitment to humanitarian causes materialized in the founding of Care for Albania, serving as its founder and a board member, advocating for essential resources and community support in Albania and neighboring countries. Dr. Sejdaras attributes her success to resilience forged through adversity, overcoming the challenges of a communist regime and civil unrest in Albania, and carrying that determination to succeed in the U.S.
Dr. Sejdaras’ aspirations extend beyond individual care to fostering global unity and supporting humanitarian causes, aspiring to impact society on a broader cultural scale. Looking ahead, she envisions herself as a catalyst for change, aiming to inspire future generations and elevate societal welfare. Her journey continues to be influenced by her mother and grandmother’s bravery, college mentors, and the ethos instilled by Mother Teresa’s example.
