He holds a certification from the National Organization of Minority Architects and is a LEAN practitioner.
Beyond his responsibilities within the field, Mr. Duong has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. He was an equity team volunteer at Lake Washington School District and coach at Leadership Tomorrow. He volunteered with Lake Washington United Methodist Church and served as president of Helping Link, an organization dedicated to providing complimentary support services and community programs to Seattle’s Vietnamese population. In addition to his primary vocation, he remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He was a high-level member of Lake Washington United Methodist Church, the American Institute of Architects, the Academy of Architecture for Health, and the National Organization of Minority Architects.
In light of his impressive undertakings, Mr. Duong has accrued several accolades throughout his career. He has served as a distinguished thought leader in the field of architecture, specializing in the design of hospitals and clinics. He was inducted into the American Institute of Architects – Academy of Architecture for Health’s U40 List in 2017 and created the winning entry for the AAROW Asian Tsunami Memorial Design Competition in 2005. He was selected for an advanced opportunity fellowship by the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
