Ms. Vazquez is a dedicated biomedical engineer who found success as a biomedical equipment technician at Crothall Healthcare in Cincinnati, Ohio, between 2020 and 2022, advancing to assistant unit director in 2022, a role in which she continues to thrive. In 2020, she served Lakeland Regional Health in Lakeland, Florida, as a clinical engineer, level II. At Med-Equip, she excelled as a biomedical engineer lead between 2019 and 2020. Ms. Vazquez began her career as a biomedical technician intern at Agiliti Health, Inc. Following the completion of her internship, she progressed to the position of a biomedical technician level I from 2015 to 2018 and a biomedical technician level II from 2018 to 2019.
With a desire to enter the healthcare field, Ms. Vazquez knew she did not have the patience required to become a doctor or a nurse, instead developing a strong passion for engineering. She succeeded in her desire to enter the medicine when she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from DeVry University in 2017. In 2018, she earned an online certificate in healthcare technology management leadership from the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI). She further obtained a certificate of completion in applied project management from the University of Central Florida in 2019.
Ms. Vazquez cites her most notable achievement as recognition as one of the 40 Under Forty Up and Coming Young Professionals in 2022. She was also celebrated as the Biomedical Equipment Technician of the Year for the State of Florida. In 2019, she was a nominee for Biomedical Equipment Technician for the Bay Area Association of Medical Instrumentation. Ms. Vazquez has received many distinguishing honors from Agiliti Health, Inc., including the Spotlight Award in 2016 and 2018 and being voted the Most Improved Among Peers in 2017.
Ms. Vazquez is a member of many biomedical technology organizations, including the Kentucky Association for Medical Instrumentation, the Biomedical Engineering Society at The Ohio State University, the Ohio Healthcare Technology Management Association, and the Indiana Biomedical Society. In addition, she has been affiliated with the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation since 2021 and the Florida chapter of the Association for Health Care Resource and Materials Management since 2020. Between 2018 and 2022, she was appointed as board treasurer for the Central Florida Biomedical Instrumentation Society (CFBIS).
